Title: Ceres

Cerestriel - March 26, 2008 06:50 AM (GMT)
OOC Name: Valentine
Character Name: Ceres
Age: About Three
Gender: Female
Spirit Animal: Melanstic Margay
Appearance:
Ceres is mainly light colored, with some orange, red, and brown hues mixed in. she looks much like a forest floor during the fall, well a forest floor not found in Alaska. Her main color, if you can call it main, is a light golden yellow, a creamish color. This color covers most of her body, including her sides, back, legs, thighs, and the top of her tail. Her right cheek is also a slightly darker shade of this color. her front legs, some of her neck, the sides of her muzzle, and the left cheek are white. As for grey, it covers the bottom of her chest between her forelegs, in a dark patch. Little strips of it run through her neck, and the tip of her tail is a light grey on one side, with white on the other. The top of her muzzle, below her eyes is a shade of dull grey-brown. Reds and oranges are also found throughout. All above her eyes, red-orange dominates, as well as on her chest, neck, in fornt of her thighs, and the middle segment of her tail. The insides of her ears are also red. Her face sports unique eye markings. Swirls, and scar shaped markings of Cerise, purple, red and lavander.

Ceres has a very elegant and innocent beauty about her. Her fur is usually quite clean, though she has a bad habit of not cleaning her paws. She hates dust and the taste of it. The rest of her fur is long and very soft, but it has a downward angle, so she isn't fluffy. It is warm and gentle to the touch. Her coat has a healthy sheen to it for she exercises often. She runs, jumps, and trains herself in order to be the best that she can for her pack. She is always in prime condition just in case. Being healthy also gives her better resistance to disease, as well as a shorter sick time when she does become ill.

As for body stance and language, Ceres almost always has a smile. It isn't always a joyous or giddy smile, but usually a contented or gentle one. Her gait is elegant and sturdy, and she is rarely uncoordinated or clumsy, but when she is clumsy, she’s horrid. She’s terrible at regaining balance once lost and she’ll end up a pile of fur ten feet from where she tripped. She wasn't born this way, but she is coordinated because she is alert and aware of her surroundings. She is quite unbalanced naturally, and she may stumble if she is startled.

As for her body and build, her build is healthy and fit, but not overly strong. She has to train and work very hard to stay even slightly above average in strength. She is only slightly above some females, and has yet to come across a larger female or male she can overpower. Her strength is agility. This fem is flexible and quick, able to move her delicate and lithe body easily and fast. She is faster than most wolves, and can dodge many attacks with the ways her body can move. She attributes some many of these strengths to her powers, she is delicate like the spring. Spring is gentle and versitile, just like she is, but it can also be overpowered. She sees herself as well balanced as far as strengths and weaknesses. Her body is quite small and feminine, and most male wolves and some females tower above her. Her frame is delicate, giving her a false look of weakness.

As for her face, its fur is short, and she's often bothered by this during cold seasons. She sometimes teases that some of the fur that should have gone to her face went to her neck. Her neck sports a thick ring, giving her vitals there a fragment of extra protection. Her nose is slightly short, which makes digging slightly more difficult, but it isn't noticeable, really, and she doesn't mind it. Her nose is black as night, and her eyes are a vibrant ocean green.

Personality:

Ceres Is first of all, and most apparent, a compassionate soul. She is dedicated and caring about the things and people she holds dear. She would never hesistate to drop everything to help a friend, always putting others first. She is gentle and non-selfserving. She’ll always put friends first and she’ll often let people walk all over her. She is stubborn on some cases, but she hates conflict, so avoids it by letting others have their way.

Ceres is very naive, gullible, and innocent. She's easily fooled, and doesn't know much of the ways of the world. There are many things she can't even begin to understand, and many of them she doesn't want to. These attributes have caused her to be shy, not in ways of friends, but of in love and relationships. She is never a flirt, and if one flirted with her, she would think it only a compliment. She is always kind, and gentle. She is very sweet, and she can't stand to see things hurt, or in trouble. She would step in to save a life, no matter whose it was.

Though ignorant in the ways of the world, she is an endless source of advice and wisdom, from her eventful past. She always has something meaningful or helpful to say. Her favorite saying is: "You will know a hero from a coward, when you see which way they run." Ceres is very brave, and sticks to this phrase as sort of a motto or a standard. She won't run form a fight, if it is in the attempt of guarding or protecting someone. She will not however, participate in foolish battles. Fights over material things, or power, she will willingly surrender.

Ceres is the kind of person who needs to gain some self-respect. She is fully confident in herself, but she doesn’t give herself enough credit or worth. She often allows people to walk all over her and take advantage of her, as long as she can get a smile out of it. She likes to feel appreciated, and she treats herself like she’s the mother of everyone. She gives, but never expects anything in return. It’s a kindness in her eyes, but it takes its toll on her. She needs to learn to take gifts from others. Sometimes refusing help in order to not be a burden makes her look snobby, as if she’s too good for their help. Although it not often, it sometimes hurts horses' feelings.

Ceres is gentle as her name would suggest. She is kind and compassionate, never hesitating to put others first. She's the kind of girl who lets people walk all over her. She's a pushover and she knows it. She tries not to be, always telling herself that next time she'll stick up for herself. When "next-time" rolls around, she gets trampled on again, always keeping quiet for the other person's sake. Now, this bad habit is only with friends. She could care less about the feelings or wishes of enemies. When it comes to people she doesn't like, she's flat, blunt and truthful, although she tries to be as "kind" as possible. However, this is only with enemies. With acquaintances, she's stuck in the middle. She'll fluff up the truth and sugar coat it to make it less painful.

She's kind and beats around the bush with friends, but she's opinionated and outspoken about opinions with enemies. When it comes to friends, she'll endure pain for months to avoid hurting her friend's feelings, even if it takes a heavy toll on her.

Ceres is very devoted. When you're her friend, you're her friend. She’ll stick by you through good and bad times, all the way. She'll always be there for you. She would make any the perfect friend or mate. When she meets a friend, she will never forget them, even after their death. If someone were to help her, she would be eternally grateful, and she will not let herself leave a debt unpaid, though she would never want to be repaid for her own actions, although she doesn’t insist on others not repaying her. To her refusing to except favors is a bit strange, and makes you look like you want attention. If you can't handle problems by yourself, she's more than happy to carry all of them for you. All of them. This causes her to be a target. Her generosity and gentle nature are often taken advantage of. She'll help anyone who needs it (Within reason). If you aren't her enemy, then she assumes you to be trustworthy. This is a fault of hers. She's too trusting, not giving herself enough time to analyze people. She jumps to conclusions about people, more often than not, for the good. She assumes that most people are honorable, while few are dishonorable.

Ceres is also very oblivious, naive and gullible. She's the definition of innocence. Throughout her entire life her mother kept her form the world, trying her best to keep her daughter pure and safe for when she would have to be on her own. She wanted her daughter to be kind, respectful and good. This was also what Ceres wanted. She is very modest and reserved. Her innocence has led her to be overly trusting as stated before, and she is also quite oblivious. If someone is flirting, she won't understand. If you try to be suddle with her instead of coming out and saying it (On any subject) she'll often spend quite a while trying to understand. No, she isn't stupid, but she's used to the whole and simple truth.

Another thing about Ceres is that she hates fighting. She won't touch anyone in violence, and so avoids them, knowing she'll get ripped to shreds. She won't be able to bring herself to fight. Verbal arguments are a different story. She'll argue for hours. About certain things. She tries her hardest to be gentle, but sometimes her feelings and opinions get in the way and she can't hold back. She tries to keep her feelings under control when on touchy subjects, but often she can't. She's trying her best to become less opinionated, and she thanks her natural push-overness for helping her avoid so many arguments.

Another weakness of hers is how she goes about solving problems. If she's in a fight or annoyed with a friend, she won't say so, for hear of hurting they're feelings. She'll avoid them and not answer the phone when they call. She'll go to an occasional activity with them to assure that their friendship is still living, but she won't ever come straight to them with a problem. When her feelings are hurt she'll live with the pain for months, not daring to tell anyone they've upset her. She can't stand conflict with close friends. Her opinionated nature coupled with her habit of letting people walk all over her is quite the contradiction, but it really depends on the person, problem and exact scenario.

Ceres is fun to be around, with a good sense of humor and a lot of wacky times. She always has a smile and is often found bouncing around. She's very hyper and loves to laugh. She likes to tease her friends and make them laugh. The strangest things come out of this young woman's mouth. She's always up for a game or a dance like the electric slide. She's social and needs to be around people. She hates just sitting down while other people have all the fun and she often forced her introverted friends to lighten up a little.

One really annoying thing about Ceres is she's extremely defensive. If blamed or accused of something, she'll come up with about 12 things to make it not entirely her fault. She does this because she absolutely hates seeing people disappointed in her, and she hates it when people yell at her. She'd rather just be punished and skip the yelling part. She'll often say hurtful things when trying to defend herself, which she regrets later.

Ceres is extremely brave and a big baby at the same time. When it comes to things she finds dangerous like jumping off stuff or going out alone in the dark, she refuses entirely. If you dare her to run through the territory shouting "I'm an armadillo radio from Nantucket." she'll do it eight times with a smile. She's brave in the fact that only her friend's opinions matter to her and her friends are as crazy as she is. She’s also brave when stating her opinion, as afore mentioned. When it comes to danger, it’s safe to assume she's out.

Ceres is very polite and has very good manners. She will always call adults sir or mam. Once she gets to know you well, it will change to Mr or Mrs. She will never call an elder by their first name unless they insist. She only calls friends by their first names. She has never cursed, and she is rarely disrespectful to her elders.

Ceres can by very messy and un-organized, as well as lazy. She notices but she's ashamed to say it doesn't bother her. She hates doing jobs for herself, although she loves to do favors for others. This used to drive her mother insane.

One thing about her that tends to aggravate, is that she is often in the way, and gets into things that are really none of her business. Even if she is trying to help, it would often be better if she just left herself out of it, but she can't. She has a need to be right in things, and help solve the problem. She doesn't catch on very quickly, so doesn't notice she's in the way until others are already angry with her.

Ceres’s biggest weakness is that she is very stubborn and opinionated. If she has an opinion, she can try all day to see your side of it, but she’ll never really get it. She’s terrible at stepping into other people’s views when it comes to personal subjects. If she disagrees with you, she is quite likely to show it, and in an almost hostile way. She’ll often start pouring out emotion and opinions that you didn’t want to hear. She will rarely consider anyone else’s point of view, and later, when the fight is said and done, someone is hurt and she feels regret. The thing is she can never see the consequences of her stubbornness before the fight takes place.

This habit of stubbornness, along with her devoted nature, has over the years grown her another bad habit. She is really ever violent, seeing it as quite a last resort. She would allow herself to come near death before taking to violence herself. She tries to steer clear of physical fights. There is one exception. If a friend or relative is insulted or harmed in any way, she’ll loose it. She looses her calm and organized nature and throws caution to the wind. If a friend is in danger of even merely insulted verbally, Ceres has a habit of turning violent. No, she won’t rip you to pieces, but you may have a nasty bruise or scrape. She often regrets these violent outbursts immediately following a strike. She has never seriously injured anyone, and these outbursts are rare. Still, she works hard to keep them under control, and she is trying to completely eliminate them from her life.

Overall, she's sort of a living contradiction, but it all depends on the situation. She's happy with herself, though she wishes she could get rid of those bad traits. Well, no one's perfect.

History:

Ceres was born to a normal mother and father, who lead normal lives, in an average pack. They alll lived together happily...for a while.

Ceres's mother passed away when she was only a pup, leaving her loving father to take care of her. Her father was an alpha, and so they were always well provided for. She had the best life, the greatest position, and was always kept primp and clean. She didn't have many friends, though...

She was always so much higher, and more well kept than the other pups. They always just left her alone. Not to mention that she was so precious to her father. He hardly trusted anyone. She meant so much to him, he was overprotective, and he didn't want to loose her.

This led to her becoming quite secluded for quite some time. Up until she was 2, she was literally friendless. A few days after her birthday, a new family joined the clan. This family had a little pup. As soon as they met, they both saw each other for the inside. They were the very best of friends. This went on for about three years, and the were the happiest years of Ceres's life. When they were both about 2, he had to move away, and once again the poor vixen was lonely.

She grew up for a year that way, until one day. This day would change her entire life, forever. She was taking a walk, when she came across a little stream. It was so pretty, and so she stopped to sit by it a while. Her father was expecting her home, so she stood to leave. Just then she was attacked. She found her face in the dirt, with fangs to her throat. But then the weight of her attacker was quite suddenly gone. She looked up to see a handsome young wolf, with his paw on the chest of her attacker, also a wolf. Her attacker ran, leaving Ceres and her savior alone.

Ceres ran to him in thanks. She had instantly fallen for him. This is exactly what he wanted. his plan was to gain her trust and her love, take the life of her father, then mate with Ceres. He would then be alpha.

That night when Ceres came home, she was obviously late. Her father asked what had happened. She couldn't tell him! he wouldn't trust her new friend, her savior, the one that she thought she loved. So she...lied. This would prove to be the worst mistake of her life. The young wolf was a rouge, and a murderer, and so her father knew his face. if she had only been honest, the young wolf would have been killed, and unable to hurt anyone.

A few weeks after the incident by the creek, the young wolf decided it was time. He stole in the night to Ceres's father's den, and killed him. He almost got by without being spotted, but Ceres barely caught him. She turned him in to the patrolers, but never forgave herself for her father's death.

since her father's death, she vowed to rid the world of murderer's and thieves just like the one who killed her father. in other words, she isn't a dark-lover. She hunts them down, gains their trust, and turns them in to wolves who are willing to punish them. then she usually moves on. Secretly though, she wants a permanent home and a family of her own.
