Title: Snow

[dohtml]

OOC Name: Grae or Graebelle

Character Name: Snow
Age: 2 ½ years
Gender: Female
Spirit Animal: Male Snowy Owl

Appearance: Snow's overall appearance is rather feminine. Her body is long and lean, and the way she carries herself gives the impression that she is used to slinking about under the radar. More often than not she can be found with an indifferent expression, though that is just her way. She holds her head level with her shoulders or below, never showing signs that she might be one of authority, but she does tend to give off that vibe. She is sure of herself, and it shows in the way she carries herself, not trying to flaunt the fact she can make decisions on her own, but rather just being who she is.

Her coat is a bit odd. From the front, she looks like your average arctic wolf: cream white fur, yellow-gold eyes, black nose and mouth. But when given a full view, you see immediately that that isn't the case. The human destroying virus affected her, causing her fur to change color. Along her body, the white color of her front half fades into a tan color over the rest of her, giving her a sort of two-toned look. She rather likes her appearance and coloration though she might not openly admit it.

Snow's Picture. (Just pretend her back half is tan)

Personality: Around new faces, Snow has a tendency to pick out the quiet, either shy or loner-esque, one and strike up a trivial conversation. By doing this she feels she isn't just sitting back watching the conversations roll on by, and if they remain silent she could at least say she gave it a try. She might offer up a bit of information about herself, aside from her simple name, that might get talk rolling, though she prefers the quieter company. Too much talking tends to annoy her and set her in a foul mood.

Around friends she is quite open and friendly, though by her detached expression you wouldn't think so. It is her voice that usually gives away what she is feeling or thinking, her eyes just as vacant as her expression. All this is much to the displeasure of her parents. She rarely smiles or shows much amusement beyond a slight crinkling around her eyes, almost as if she is silently laughing on the inside. She does have a sense of humor, and once tapped into she can keep up with witty comebacks in a grand fashion.

She can be a secretive thing when she feels like it, keeping her thoughts and opinions to herself. Every so often she'll get into a bad talking spell and hog the conversation instead of letting the other person get their two cents in. Those days are rare but do occur once in a blue moon. During one of her conversational moods, she might let slip some of those secretive thoughts she keeps hidden behind her vacant stare, giving the listener a small glimpse of what lays buried within.

Pack life is curious for her. The pack she came from was run a bit differently than the others she had encountered on her travels away from home, and she is interested in just how they are organized and managed. The leading ranks of Alpha and Beta are of interest to her, since she does like to be influential to others around her, but she hasn't had a taste of that authority yet to decide whether she truly likes the idea.

History: Snow was prized among her mother's first litter because of her looks. Her mother had been an arctic wolf, unchanged by the virus that had run its course throughout the world, tainting wolves left and right. She had found and mated with another solid white wolf in the hopes that their children would look at least half as beautiful as they did with their pure white coats. So when she had her first litter of pups, vainly hoping for young ones who looked like herself, she was pleased to see three young pups of a light coloration, giving her hope that they would be normal yet.

Her mother doted on her constantly, praising her sweet daughter's appearance and charming personality. Her two brothers were a bit more rambunctious than she was, though she enjoyed watching them scuffle playfully together. She learned fighting and hunting skills from observing rather than practicing herself, though occasionally she would wander off and attempt the maneuvers she had seen her brothers make on an unsuspecting shrub, usually ending dirty because of it. Snow's mother would fuss over the mess she was making, quickly going to clean her fur so it could be dirtied again later.

As time began to pass, and the pups began to grow into their adult selves their appearances were beginning to change slightly day by day. Snow's brothers each took different routes along the lines of the arctic breed. One turned a brilliant white that rivaled the snow, while the other was so softly cream colored she was sure he looked like an angel. She, on the other hand, was odd beyond repair. Her front half had turned creamy white much like her second brother's, while her back half turned a tan that her mother secretly called hideous. Of course, it wasn't a secret to Snow, who often times wandered into places she wasn't supposed to be, usually without her brothers. The words of her mother spoken to her father hurt her, but she chose not to bring it up, even in thought. She was her mother, so she had to love her.

But it didn't seem the case as more time passed, each wolf growing more into their own. Snow found more ways to disappoint her mother. She hardly smiled, her sense of humor being a bit off like that. She rarely had any other facial expressions besides the blank stare she usually had. And she didn't say the pretty senseless things a young female wolf would say, nor go swooning over the next beautiful white wolf that wandered past. Her mother's hopes for her began to fade, and she began setting her attention more on Snow's brothers, leaving the young she-wolf to follow her own path.

So she did. At two years, when she felt she was old enough to make her own decisions and strike out away from her family, she left without a second glance. She knew her brothers would miss her, and her father would feel hurt she never said goodbye, but she hoped her mother knew that she left mainly because of the lack of affection she had been shown because of her appearance. Knowing there were others out there in the world changed more than she was, she set out in search of them, hoping to band with them since she wasn't even welcome around the one she cared for the most.
