Title: A New Land To Explore.
Description: [p] Kaelan and Ahas
Detai - March 15, 2008 08:32 PM (GMT)
A solitary wolf sits alone amongst some scattered spring flowers, the sun is high in the sky, with cloud cover to shield one from the harsh rays. All in all it is a pleasant day, or it would be for Deitan if he wasn't sitting on his haunches nursing his right paw as though it might be broken.
He wasn't entirely certain why he had chosen to come here, and he had not bothered to look around for any potential packs to join, as he was still a little shocked from relatively recent events. His current ailment however had nothing to do with his previous pack, and he cursed himself for the recklessness that caused it.
"Damn it all, I knew it was a mistake to try and take such a large animal by myself!" He half roared the surrounding meadow, obviously in a lot of pain. Though the brute was fairly sure he was alone, but then again, he was fairly sure he would take down the deer that got him in this mess with no problem.

<p><dd>She was napping in the sunlight, looking for all the world like a large black rock, when a loud voice startled her. She leapt to her feet, her wings unfurling instinctively, her fur bristling as she cursed herself for relaxing to the extent she had. The voice was oddly familiar, and she found herself thinking of Sorthis. This only caused her thundering growl to deepen.
<dd>She left her wings unfurled, but spread back, her posture reminiscint of a bird of prey in flight. Her spirit guide as huffing, puffing, and popping, his spines bristling every which way. He, as a hedgehog, wasn't overly fond of sudden movements, or loud noises, and upon waking, had to deal with both.
<dd>She moved swiftly to where the yowl had come from, bristling. Within moments, she'd placed the voice, and soon had visual and olfactory confirmation. <dd>Detai,</b> she spat. <b>I should have known. Where's that murdering bastard of a brother of yours?</b> No hi, no how are you. Succint and straight to the point. That was kaelan for you.

Detai - March 16, 2008 02:51 AM (GMT)
Detai was far too focused on his aching paw to notice the approach of another wolf, and was taken completely by surprise when he heard a very familiar voice. A very angry, and venomous voice, but it was familiar to the brute none the less.
The male nearly lost his balance in the haste to swivel around, in order to meet what he suspected was a hostile foe. After regaining his balance, he was able to get a clearer look of the other wolf, and a few moments of sinking in quickly told him that it was Kaelan. The very wolf that challenged his brother, and led to his disappearance in his mind, he wasn't even sure she wasn't somehow involved in the disappearance herself!
The gaping maw of Detai snarled in response to the rude greeting he was receiving, even if he knew that he was in no shape to fight... he was not going to back down to her. "How should I know! He vanished just the same as your family did. Besides, that IS my brother your talking about, my flesh and blood!". Truthfully, he rarely saw eye to eye with his brother, there were more then a number of times he would have stepped in to stop him from doing something stupid if someone else hadn't, but he was still his older brother, and that meant he was to be given some measure of respect.
"Just what are you doing out here anyways?" his voice remained mixed with snarls, and his eyes watched the fae for any sudden movements, not that he was in much position to do anything about it if she did.
Ahas - March 16, 2008 02:53 AM (GMT)
In all that howling and whining that threatened to break the very fabric of normal in the universe, another voice joined in, jeering instead of howling.
"Caw! Caw! Ya' damn stupid wolfie! Shaddup or ya' will wake up the whole woods!"
Flapping in only to fall with practice landing procedures onto a low branch, Ahas called at the wolf nursing his paw. Aw, boo-hoo, poor baby. Wolves were such wusses when it came to pain. Crows on the other hand were used to flying into 'invisible rocks', swearing they weren't there moments before. That's right, moving rocks. At least, that's what Ahas blamed for his occasional run in with solid objects. Didn't complain one bit when he did that. No, sir.
Jumping from foot to foot, the crow pointed and laughed at the injured one. His feathers ruffled in on him as he bellowed out a scratchy chuckle, finally settling from his laughter after a few minutes time.
"Did'ja get sit on by a rock monster or somethin', wolfy?" He taunted, swaying in his spot in great amusement at the situation unraveling in front of him. "Or did'ja get a big 'ead and try an' take down that big ol' buck that calls 'ome 'round 'ere?!" Unable to contain himself, he laughs again this time taking to the air and hovering over his branch.
"Oh, look! Oh, look! What's this girly got ta' say 'bout the poor, 'urt wolf, eh? 'Ey, ya' a ain't bad lookin' for a pretend bird, girly! Wings are for birds! Wings are for birds!" And with the obnoxious speal out of the way, Ahas flew circle over the heads of the two canines, planning on using the information of an injured wolf on a later date.

<p><dd>Kae shot a venomous look at the crow. crows were such noisy, boisterous creatures. Stupid things. She looked back at detai, her lavender eyes glittering with hatred. <b>Yes, your flesh and blood. the same arrogant wolf who murdered my Vincent and stole my pups!</b>
<dd><i>"Just what are you doing out here anyways?"</i> She snorted. <b>I could ask you the same thing. Last i saw you, you were trying to talk Daena out of wanting to mate me. The only thing we've ever agreed on, By the way, for all the good it did either of us.</b> She was still bristling, her lavender tipped wings adjusting every time she moved.

Detai - March 18, 2008 03:30 PM (GMT)
Thats just what he needed... a crow to mock his injuries while someone that hated him, no doubt pondered on the option of making his injuries worse. "Why don't you come down from that trees, and I will be glad to show you what happened!" Detai snarled up at the crow, hoping inside that the bird would be stupid enough to let him get his claws on him, or the non-broken claws anyways.
The crow's jab at Kaelan's wings was enough to remind him that he had bigger fish to worry about, namely the fish that was blaming his brother for her missing family. "Pfft, you weren't even around. My brother may be a little underhanded, or even shifty at times, but you forget that he vanished at the same time!". Just who did this other wolf think she was, making outrageous claims without a scrap of evidence to back here up?!
Detai was not expecting his question to be turned around on him as Kaelan seemed fond of doing, and he was hardly prepared to answer why he had left their mutual former home. Telling her the truth just wasn't an option, but he was a horrendous liar, having to take a good minute or so to run through more complex questions. So in place of a lie, or the truth, Detai simply put silence. The male's initial confident voice was extinguished rapidly, while he struggled to think of something plausible to say in return.
Ahas - March 18, 2008 11:32 PM (GMT)
At the evil look from the 'girly wolf', Ahas grinned as he put a wing feather to his chest while puffing it out. Hey, it was an accomplishment to get a wolf to actually take enough interest in a common crow to give them that stare. Really, he lived for getting canines riled up over his jabs and then turning around and screwing them over. Great living, really, for one that would normally live his life picking at wasted meals.
"Oh, hoho..." Trotting back and forth on his branch, Ahas listened with keen interest in the jabber being exchanged between the two. What was this?
"Rumors! Rumors! A murderer among wolves! Murderer! Murderer! Brother! Brother!" Now, he played the fool, crying out all this to let the wolves put their guard down. Really, he absorbed all this new information, filing it in his mental catalog. Maybe he could start some trouble bringing bunches of laughs to the crow's life.
"Why don't you come down from that tree and I will be glad to show you what happened!"
"Yes, yes? Ya' will let me see, ya' say?" Jumping to the air, fluttering in his spot for a moment and losing a bent feather in the process. Keeping a distance from the male's jaws, Ahas floated above his head, swirling in circles while looking down at the injured paw. After he made all his observations, Ahas swooped up to a safer distance not wanting the wolf to jump and catch his tail feathers in a bunch.
"Ah! Ah! Injured in body an' mind! Yeah, yeah! Wolf cannot keep tabs on brother! Crow can! Crow can find killer o'pups an' peck his eyes out!" There, his offer was up in the air, but there was still opportunity to make fun of his injury. It was quite the sight, as broken as it was, "Injured mutt! Paw will never be same! Never! Never! Stupid! Haha!"
Kaelan - March 19, 2008 01:55 PM (GMT)
"Pfft, you weren't even around. My brother may be a little underhanded, or even shifty at times, but you forget that he vanished at the same time!". Her lavender eyed darked. Her voice climbed the octaves from dangerously low to hysterically furious.
I didn't have to be around! I came back from a sucessful hunt, vicent was dead, Sorthis's scent was plastered all over my den, and my pups were missing! I don't have to be around to know who killed Vincent! She was stiff with rage now. And I bet you had a hand in it. Hell, it was probaby your idea for Sorthis to take my pups in the first place.
Her anger was not detracted from when the crow began his screeching again. She didn't spare the energy to look at him, but rather focused her anger on Detai. Her wings were spread wide as if she were going to swoop down and kill him right then and there.
Detai - March 19, 2008 02:12 PM (GMT)
Detai growled at the crow as it seemed to taunt him by flying just out of his reach, he could have tried to leap up and snap at the frustrating bird, but that would have likely only ended with him losing his balance, and tumbling to the ground. "Damn bird..." he grumbled under his breath, and became even more irritated looking when the bird sounded like they were going to fly all over creation spreading that he had injured himself.
His attention was quickly regained by Kaelan's enraged reaction to his reply, as she sounded, and looked like she might attack him for such a comment. Given completely even odds, he was certain he could at least take the other wolf on, but with only one paw that worked without excruciating pain? "So he went in your den, and what in the world are you rambling about now?! I don't hurt puppies for one, and two... just why would I tell my brother to get rid of your pups?"
Detai was beginning to wonder if perhaps Kaelan had become so obsessed with her missing family, that everyone was against her through the femme's eyes. He had not completely ruled out anything from that strange couple of nights, where something had seemed to happen behind the scenes, away from his prying eyes, and apparently Kaelan's as well.
The brute's ears perked at the bird claiming he could find his brother, granted it was mixed in with his now trademark insults, but it wouldn't hurt to inquire. "Hey bird, do you really think you can track down someone for me?"
Ahas - March 20, 2008 10:07 AM (GMT)
Hook, line, and sinker.
Ahas waited patiently in his spot, taking back to branch. He cocked his head once or twice at the female who just babbled on and on in an overly dramatic manner. It was like some sort of theater gone wrong. Really, wolves were always so angst-filled, it was painful. Crows on the other hand were jokesters and were always finding someway to poke fun at another.
"Crazy girly! Crazy girly! He no killer! Look at 'im! Do he look like killer? Naw! Naw! Too weak and pathetic lookin' to do that! Caw, caw!" The bird nearly doubled over in laughter, getting a kick out of even his jokes.
"Hey bird, do you really think you can track down someone for me?"
Shaking his head up and down furiously, Ahas spread out his wings wide to show missing wing and body feathers. "Sure! Sure!" He leaned in, cupping a wing around his beak so that the whole world woldn't hear what he had to say next. "For a price, o'course! Spyin' is dangerous, yeah? Need ta' get reward for it!" Taking to the air again, the bird flapped circles overhead, mocking a search.
"I scurry skies, yeah? Find 'im, sneak up on 'im, and WHAM! Peck eyes out! Caw, caw! Blind wolf! Blind wolf!"
Kaelan - March 25, 2008 04:11 PM (GMT)
"So he went in your den, and what in the world are you rambling about now?! I don't hurt puppies for one, and two... just why would I tell my brother to get rid of your pups?" She stiffened more at his continued protectiveness of his brother. He didn't just go on my den, he ripped out Vincent's throat! but I suppose you want to say that was an accident?
Finally, she looked at the bird again. Scorn was written all over her face. She didn't respond to the bird, only looked back to Detai. Detai, who was, in her mind, as much a monster as the one he was trying to protect. And if murdering vincent was an accident, I suppose marking my den was one too?
Detai - March 27, 2008 03:12 AM (GMT)
Detai looked pleased by the bird's insistence that he could help track down his brother, though he would believe it when he saw it. The male's eyes were quick to narrow in their direction at the mention of a cost, he had expected some sort of payment request be made, but up front like that seemed rather unprofessional to him. Damn birds, always so obnoxious. were his hidden thoughts that hid behind his calculating reply "There will be plenty of reward if you find him, don't worry about pecking their eyes out... just tell me where he is if you find him.".
Kaelan continued her ranting about his brother, that his brother killed members of their old pack, and then made himself as well as their bodies vanish. Her insistence of such an insane idea was beginning to irritate the male, sure his brother was a jerk at times, and he could easily picture him doing alot of terrible things, but the murder of pack mates... He also was still stewing over Kaelan's suggestion that he had something to do with her family's disappearance. "I can picture my brother marking your den to push your buttons, but did you see him kill them? Is there at least some evidence you can show me?! Because right now all you have shown me is your hatred of my brother, and even tried to blame ME!.
His snapping reply was accompanied by a light snarl. Detai didn't care if he was injured right now, he was becoming angry with the femme, and he intended to show it.

<font style="color:8fa272;font-weight:bold;font-size:11px;font-family:georgia;"> These wolves sure could bicker, couldn’t they? Ahas flew overhead for what seemed like hours between the two as they barked and growled at one another. Crows never had this problem, they never killed one another as they were too lazy most of the time to do such a violent thing, Maybe poke another’s eye out, but that was about it and never would they kill another crow’s eggs. Nah, there were too many well built Blue Jay nests to raid to waste ones time with a ratty-looking crow’s nest.
<br></br>
“Caw, caw!” He squawked, the insatiable crow now pleased with this so-called epic drama any longer. Finally when the male canine perked back up to his offer, Ahas smirked and landed once again on a different branch this time, a bit low compared to the last.
<br></br>
"There will be plenty of reward if you find him, don't worry about pecking their eyes out... just tell me where he is if you find him.".
<br></br>
“Oh, oh, fine!” Frustrated he called, now liking this deal one bit, but figured it was worth a try. “Ya’ know what direction this Vincent fellow might’a gone?” He took to wing again, flapping closely over Kaelan, going to taunt the lame wolf with his talons attempting to scratch at the top of his skull. “I go! I go! Meet here, yes? Just point in direction! Reward better be good! Caw!” If it wasn’t, there would be hell to pay, but still, he just wanted to see this so-called puppy killer for himself. Maybe then this little venture would be worth all his time.</font></div> [/doHTML]
