Appearance: Though she wasn’t the runt of the litter, Ami ended up growing a little less quickly than the rest of her siblings. At the moment, she is about two or three inches under the usual height for a growing female her age, though she does show some potential to grow a bit more. She and the rest of her family really doubt she will grow into a normal sized female and instead keep her petite build, which suits her just fine. She has a sort of odd, lanky look to her, stuck between adulthood and puphood, and the way she moves, awkwardly and uncertainly, seems to reflect her young age. Some day, Ami hopes to grow, in body an confidence.

While the rest of her family was very clearly marked by the virus that had been affecting their kind for a while, Amitola’s coloration had the completely opposite effect. Instead of the virus creating color and adding it to her fur, the color was drained, leaving her a mess of gray, gray, and more gray. Her undersides are a pale gray, nearly white, and it darkens the farther up along her body it gets until it reaches her spine, where it flattens out in a black strip of fur. Though the rest of her body looks like a black and white photo, her eyes look as if they had soaked up all the color around her. They are an odd mix, rainbow in a way. If the light hits them a certain way then the colors may change position, the yellow at the top melting into green or blue, the red along the side shifting to purple and gray.

Personality: Still young and naïve, there is little that scares or intimidates Amitola. A wolf larger than herself isn’t seen as a threat, rather just a wolf a few sizes bigger than she is used to. Even unwelcome expressions don’t really put her off. If they began growling or snarling, of course she would leave them alone and keep her distance, but it might not totally worry her. Loud noises seem to do the trick, and often times a sudden sound can make her jump, but she usually follows it up with an embarrassed smile, never one to let her fears get the better of her. Maybe one day she’ll learn to listen to those fears and find that sometimes they can be rather important to her safety.

Making friends comes pretty easily to her, so long as the company she keeps wants to be her friend as well. She won’t force her presence long where it isn’t welcome, preferring to be around someone who will be happy for her spending time with them. Around this company she may act more like a pup than her age. She’s very young at heart, and with her friends she may act more so like this. Games are terribly fun for her, whether it is a simple game of tag or something new that she created on a whim. Through her rainbow colored eyes, she can see the beauty in all, and will do her best to bring it out, even if it may seem impossible to do.

If someone grows upset with her, she’ll immediately try and make up for what ever she had done or said. She doesn’t like seeing others upset, worried, or angry, especially if it is because of her, and she’ll do what ever is in her power to change this. Compassion for others runs strongly within her small body, and she lets it out when ever she can to those who seem to need it. If the anger is turned on her, she may retreat within herself and shut down until she has overcome the feelings being turned on her or they are gone. Rarely does she fall into this depresses state for long, her willingness to forgive overpowering her ability to hold a grudge.

Within a pack, she still isn’t sure what her place is. She can be quick on her feet during a hunt, but she isn’t the fastest out there. She certainly isn’t the strongest, being half the size of most of the wolves within any pack, though the fact does little to deter her from what ever she has her mind set on. Determination would probably be her best trait in a pack. She has a good deal of patience if the wait is really worth it, and when she does get her mind into this state hours turn into minutes for her. Loyalty is easy enough to come by with her, since she trusts pretty much everyone, though she does know the difference between evil and good. In a pack of like minded wolves, she can surely prove her worth in time.

As for her spirit animal, it was given to her right away, against the customs within her pack. This was done specially because she simply never spoke words, only used the usual normal wolf noises instead of forming sentences. Her little interpreter, Webb the spider, is rather good at deciphering just what her little whines and growls mean, and is happy to translate for those who want to know just what she is speaking, though she does a rather good job on her own. He is convinced she can talk, since she can make normal noises and the like, but for some reason she just doesn’t. Ami makes up for it herself by using her facial expressions to the best of her ability, usually able to get her point across without the help of Webb, though he’s likely to interpret anyway.

History: Amitola was the second born in a litter of three. Her two sisters were of the similar baby wolf color, dull to better hide them. Both of her parents had been touched by the virus, each elaborately colored as could be. Her mother was made of soft hues of yellow and purple, while her father was a mixture of greens of every shade save for his back legs, which were oddly white. Her sisters began to immediately take after them in this respect, the eldest spotting in colors of pale green and white, the youngest with dark pinks striping her gray fur. Ami had been the oddball. Her parents were only mildly disappointed, having expected some beautiful combination of colors on her, but their love for their daughter was none changed because of it. She was as much doted on as her sisters were.

It became apparent that in more than one way Ami was different from her siblings. While the other two began their baby talk and proceeded to actually speak, she did not, instead sticking to basic whines and yips, occasionally growls. Her parents were a little confounded by it, knowing her voice worked well enough since she could still make noises, but no one could really understand why she never decided to speak. In the hopes of giving her voice, the requested to get her spirit animal before she became of age, and surprisingly their request was granted. She was presented with Webb, a small black spider, who would help her during her lifetime and in a way be her voice. At first she didn’t like the idea of a spider, any animal really, going around trying to translate for her, but after a while she grew used to it and quite attached to the little bug that traveled around with her.

She was curious about life from the get-go, always sticking her nose where it shouldn‘t have been and finding new ways to entertain herself and her little spider friend. Webb was an excellent player at hide-and-seek, and one game could last from an hour to possibly much longer. He did try to dissuade her from trying some of the riskier antics she could concoct, but for the most part he let her do what she wanted and rode along for the fun.

A time came when her curiosity began getting the better of her, and she would venture farther and farther away from home into the woods. Her parents were disturb by this at first, since they wanted no harm to befall her, but when Webb finally came to them saying Ami wanted to start out on her own at the age of 1 and a half they weren’t too surprised. Though they still considered her young by many standards, they weren’t willing to restrain her against her will and consented for her to travel out into the world and find her place, with the added hope that she would find her voice as well. With directions from her parents to make sure she stayed safe, Webb and Ami set out in her direction looking for more curious things to entertain her.
