Found this blog from a bartender - and aspiring singer - in NY, where a couple of familiar faces were visiting and doing a little karaoke last night:

| So, here I am just singing away, when this cute guy in the corner table stands up and after noticing it was me singing, gives me a thumbs up and a nice big smile. About an hour later, one of his friends sang this beautiful Annie Lennox song and I was so impressed by her singing. Then, I saw the tattoos, and got a good look at her face. Turns out she was one of the finalists on last season’s American Idol. And the cute guy? Yep, he was there, too. Carly Smithson and Michael Johns were very low key, sang a few songs, had a couple of drinks, and chatted with me. In fact, it was Michael who pulled me aside and asked what I was doing working in a bar. We talked about my previous failed attempts at American Idol (I auditioned in 2002 and 2006), his successes, and a little bit about the business. Then, he asked me to sing for him. Sure. No problem. Carly was equally as wonderful and such a delight. Her talents matches her personality. What a voice! It was a great night and so affirming to share the evening with these two extremely talented performers. |

that's amazing! good find Nathan, how do you guys find this stuff? :haha:
imagine you're just hanging out at the karaoke bar and in walks Carly and MJ. first thing I would do is ask the bartender what he put in my drink  . that's so cool though.
Wow Nathan, that is a great find!!! Guess Carly is in New York working with that writer that she mentioned in the LA Times interview (or doing other important business meetings). That is really cool.
I loved that she kept talking about how great Carly's voice is. She has good taste!!! :ipod: :carly:
That's awesome - I would've loved to have been that bartender :haha:
Why does this never happen to me? Well, I couldn't get in anyway. (age) :w00twave:
