Title: NEW Summer "Come Together" '09

Cheryl - February 11, 2009 07:31 PM (GMT)
Interest has been expressed by site members (both on and off the forum) in gathering both on the East and West coast.

We are going to have 2 gatherings this summer. You can come to one or both (we hope both!)

The consensus on the west coast gathering is that it should be in LA. Shelly is going to head up this one - I'll let Shelly post about it.

I will work with Pinky on organizing the east cost gathering. We still need to decide on a location. It seems like the bulk of those interested are in the mid to southern part of the east coast which has me thinking KY, NC or TN as possible options. Atlanta would be a fun spot too since Carly lived there for a while, but is maybe too far south...

I was thinking something outdoors would be fun. Maybe a camping weekend? For those that want to camp - we can reserve adjacent campsites and do a picnic, campfires, hiking, etc. If you don't want to camp, we can find a nearby hotel and we can spend the days together. Plus for those that are watching the pennies, camping is cheaper!

We could also find a mini-golf, go-cart type place or go to an amusement part - Six Flags, Dollywood, Kings Island.

Post your ideas and thoughts. We will look at everything and decide what to do.

Cheryl

Thank you, Cheryl!

Yes, please let me know if you want to come to the get together in California!

I will put you on the "mailing list" to get updated info on activities, hotels, etc. :lmao: Also, let me know what dates will and won't work for you. As always, you can PM me if you don't want to post your preferences here. :)

Shelly

This sounds awesome Cheryl!!! I am all for it. I say camping would be soo fun! I have never been camping so this would be quite an experience. It would also be a great bonding experience for us Angels! Not sure where the best camp sites are though. lol

As for the west coast, LA seems like the perfect choice. I'd love to go there as well.

:)

All of these ideas sound really great, and I think two is the answer. As much as I wish I could do the California one(for this should be a trip of a lifetime)I will not be able too.So count me in for the East coast one.And if things should change for me and I can do the California I will definately be there too.If not I hope that everyone that gets to go has the time of their life.If ya run into Carly give hugs from Nadia and I,and if you get tattoos get for me(just kidding).Have fun.

randomkoosh423 - February 11, 2009 11:17 PM (GMT)
I'M EXCITED!!!!!!!!!! THAT SOUNDS AWESOME!!!!! i would totally go for camping!!!! then we'd hafta go shopping afterwards and look for clothes we think carly would wear. LMAO. but OMG an amusement park sounds awesome!!!!!!!

we were talking about this last night and i am thinking virginia is a good spot. thats might be the farthest south me and emily can go, plus its good for kalena. then again, i didnt even ask yet so i may not be going. we should decide on a date. :D

Mystic - February 11, 2009 11:17 PM (GMT)
West coast should be good for me. I'll PM you dates tomorrow, Shelly. :)

Shelly - February 12, 2009 05:09 PM (GMT)
Awesome! Thanks, Judith! :)

Also, I would really like if both groups could take lots of pictures and even some videos! Then we could all feel like we were at both gatherings...

Nancy - I will keep you updated of the dates and stuff in case you decide you can go. And I definitely want to get a tattoo!!! :w00t:

Nashville is AWESOME!!! And, it is only like an hour or hour and a half from me :w00t: And, since it is over the summer, we could go down to Nashville Shores. I havent been there, but I have heard it is a really nice amusement/water park. If u decide to maybe come here, my mom might be able to think of some fun places to go.

Mystic - February 13, 2009 10:59 AM (GMT)
If I can do the LA trip, it'll be more meeting up with you all than staying in the same hotel etc - I'm more on the youth hostel kind of budget on my mega trip :haha:

Jesssicaalynn - February 14, 2009 01:33 AM (GMT)
Jeez...I'm only 17 and I live in Texas. C'mon guys help me out here! I don't know if i could go to either one :( Now i'm totally bummed!
We should have one in the south!! lol!
But yeah...it would be uhh-mazz-ing if my parents would let me go.

Pinky - February 16, 2009 06:42 PM (GMT)
Nashville sounds amazing too however I still love the camping idea! As Cheryl also stated, camping is cheaper which is a plus. If we chose a big city as our location, each of us would be spending a lot more money on the trip. Who knows, but I haven been reading everyones comments and suggestions and taking it all into account. :)

Shelly - February 16, 2009 10:03 PM (GMT)
Definitely no camping in L.A.! :lmao:

But speaking as someone who is very far from rich, we will be trying to find a cheap hotel that everyone can afford.

CarlyRocks123 - February 16, 2009 10:12 PM (GMT)
Yea, I don't think there are many places in Nashville to camp. There might be some, but I do't know..I like the idea of camping too..My mom's bank account likes it too lol...Plus, camping is FUN!!!!

Nancy - February 18, 2009 12:03 AM (GMT)
Ok I'm pretty much in for anything, for me it's about getting to meet all the angels and having fun.

supersporty34 - February 18, 2009 02:08 AM (GMT)
Camping sounds fun to me! Anywhere in the south works best for me. I live in TX, but I have some family around Nashville I could always have an excuse to visit so TN or in that general area would be good.

CarlyRocks123 - February 18, 2009 02:35 AM (GMT)
Camping is SO MUCH FUN!!!!! I love it..I havent been in a while though, but I love it..

Really, Christine? I live like an hour from Nashville. how far do they live from it?

I was actually born in Nashville and lived there until I was 5. I have a great aunt and uncle and second cousins who live in Paris, TN which is like northwest I believe of Nashville. It's a really podunk small town but pretty cool I guess. I also have an aunt/uncle and cousins who live in Franklin, TN which is even closer to Nashville.

What part of the state are you from?

CarlyRocks123 - February 19, 2009 04:20 AM (GMT)
Oh that is s cool! The things you find out abot friends online :P Yep, I know wher Paris and Franklin are.

I live about an hour or hour and a half wes of Nashville..I am not allowed to say the name...but yea..that is cool though..

supersporty34 - February 19, 2009 05:29 AM (GMT)
Yea it is cool :P I love that part of the country so that's awesome you get to live there. It's so weird though that you can drive like an hour and get from Georgia to Tennessee. Whereas in Texas where I live it takes like three hours to get from Houston to Austin. Texas is just huge!

Nancy - February 19, 2009 11:21 AM (GMT)
Just another suggestion, anyone up for the beach?Swimming in the ocean, putting your feet in the sand.

Nancy - February 19, 2009 04:56 PM (GMT)
A trip to the beach could also include camping as well to make things cheaper for everyone. :money:

Another suggestion is maybe plan this trip on weekdays would also make things cheaper then on a weekend.Might be easier for some to get weekdays off instead of weekends for those who work weekends.Just throwing in some ideas.

I love the idea of camping, regardless where it is at. I live in Virginia so I'm in the middle of all the states that are being suggested, so I know that won't be a problem for me to go to the east coast one.

For California. I am working hard on getting there, add me to the mailing list Shelly so I can keep updated and can have a better idea if I'll be able to go. If we do go camping on the east coast and an amusement park or such then I will have a better chance of being able to go to California as well, BUT that's just from me personal. If others don't want camping and would prefer something bigger that's cool too!

Nancy - February 21, 2009 12:27 AM (GMT)
Camping sounds good to me,like I said I'm in for whatever everyone decides.Im just looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hi Shelly, I'm Jenn. Could you please add me to the list of prospective LA people? I will be in California at some point this summer so maybe the dates will match up.

I don't know if you want me to give you my email address or not. Cheryl definitely
has it though. :)

Thank you

Nancy - February 22, 2009 02:51 PM (GMT)
Is there anyway to decide on a month that we will be going?I have another trip I am going on and need to make some special reservation ASAP for this.Let me know.Because once I make this reservation it cannot be changed.Thanks.

Cheryl - February 22, 2009 07:22 PM (GMT)
I think we should do June if we are camping, before it gets tooo hot. Also, a side note, Nashville has some nice campgrounds - I don't think it matters where we go if we want to camp - you can camp just about anywhere.

Nashville is the only concrete location that has been suggested. Any other places?

Cheryl

CarlyRocks123 - February 22, 2009 07:45 PM (GMT)
Yea June would be a good time, especially if we do Nashville, because they past few summers, in JUly, it has been really hot, sometimes almost reaching 100..I wouldnt be able to stand that lol..

Yes, Nashville has a lot of good places for camping. Cheryl, if you guys need any help trying to come up with a place or things to do, let me know and I can ask my mom about some good places. Just let me know! :)

Can't wait to meet all of you guys! It will be so much fun!

No, not yet. If the East Coasters are doing it in June, we will probably do it either in July or August. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts...

Also, my idea was to schedule at least one big dinner for all of us to attend... and then the rest of the time, we can split off into groups or whatever. I want to go to Universal so anybody that wanted to do that could join me. I had also thought of spending some time at the beach, maybe? Any other suggestions would be welcome.

I sent you my dates for being in the US, right? So the latter part of August would suit me best. And the whole dinner/splitting off into groups thing sounds good to me :)

I'd just like to get dates worked out ASAP if possible so I can book my accomodation elsewhere in the US.

Pinky - March 10, 2009 07:24 PM (GMT)
The 3 locations I keep hearing from many of you over and over for the east coast trip are NYC, camping in TN, and Philadelphia.

So for all of you east coast vacationers...PM me and let me know where you would most like to go. We hope to make a final decision very soon!
