I REALLY want to make one, it's been on my mind for the last couple of months.
Still waiting though, it's a hard decision, taking all that pain on myself. How did Carly do it? Not to mention Todd, gahhh :lol:

Yeah, I want it to be 'Strength' in these chinese characters with some cool backrground or something. Alot of people think the chinese characters are corny or stupid, but it's what I connect with and it's for life, so I don't really care about people's opinions in this case :lol:

Oh, exactly. It doesn't matter what other people think - it matters what YOU think. If you are going to do characters in a different language, I would go and make sure you get the correct translation. I've seen some horror stories online from people who ended up with the wrong word(s). There are some sites that will make sure what you have is authentic... and although you usually have to pay for this service, I think it's worth the money.

Just my two cents, though... :)

Totally agree. I've been thinking and thinking and thinking and THINKING about what I want to get. And I've bugged Cheryl and Mel about it so many times, I'm sure they're like "Just get it already!" :lol: But yeah, you definitely want to make sure it's right for you and what you want...

My 21st birthday is in two days and I might get my tattoo then! However, I'm still deciding between a couple things. I also might wait until after my sister's wedding in August so that she doesn't kill me. haha.

My options right now are "Hold on to your faith" on my wrist or "take these broken wings and learn to fly" on my foot. Of course there's still a million other things running through my mind!

I like the Blackbird lyric too... :) Plus it's Carly-inspired! :D I've always thought about getting a lyric as a tattoo but could never decide on one... but this is a really good one and could look really cool. If it were ME, I'd get the lyric with a tiny little blackbird next to it...

I know that some tattoo shops won't do foot tattoos so if that's what you're going to do, I'd definitely do some research on the shops in your area. I asked one tattoo artist why he wouldn't do foot tattoos and he said because they are pretty painful and because they fade very easily (from your shoes rubbing against it). Because most tattoos shops will touch up your tattoo for free (if it's fading), it's too expensive for them to do foot tattoos with all the touch-ups.

Well I'm only 15 so I wont be getting a tattoo for a few more years. But I am hoping to get a tattoo and Carly and Todd's shop in San Diego. I live in WA. state so its not too far away (just down the entire western coast!). And if my family and I ever take a vacation down to Disney Land or Sea World that would be my best chance at getting one. But my parents are kind of conservative so I dont know what they would do if they saw I had a tattoo on my body! But when I'm 18 I'll do whatever I please.

Aw, well, this will definitely give you time to think about exactly what you want and where you want it. I mean, you don't want to rush into anything because it will be with you forever. This way, when you're 18, you'll know what you want as you've had a few years to really think on it. What are you thinking of getting?

Yeah it is good that I have a couple years to think about it because I have no idea what I want. But I do know I dont want anything too big and exposed because I'm kind of shooting for a more advanced job when I'm an adult and I would like to look professional and clean cut. But I still want a tattoo somewhere :D

Oh, I totally understand. I'm a social worker and I'm constantly going out into the community, meeting people. So, while I love Carly's sleeve, I don't think it would jive with my line of work. Hence why my tattoo will be hidden. :yes:

I would love to have a small dragon. Dragons, in myth, are extremely intelligent, beyond even human intelligence, and live to be hundreds or even thousands of years old. They even speak in several languages, and have magical capabilities. They like shiny objects, therefore hoard gold and gems. They sleep on their pile of treasure, and will guard it with their life. I love to play PC games and used to play Dungeons and Dragons. Dragons will protect nearby towns, for tribute in the form of treasure or food (usually stockyard cows and sheep). All in all, dragons are the most interesting mythical creature I know of. And that's why I want one.

Well, now you'll have time to really think about what you want to get and what you want it to look like. I've been thinking about mine for about a while now and it has changed after some research. I do have some advice if one wants to get a Carly-inspired tattoo but I think I'll put that in that thread... off I go...

I don't know for sure. Maybe just below the left collar bone, or a little lower, on the left "man breast" lol. Basically where Melanie's bird is.

My parents are pretty conservative as well, even though I'm 18, so I probably won't even tell them before i get it done.

I'm going to get mine somewhere in Cali next summer, there's not an awful lot of places here that do it, and hardly any i would trust.....

I already posted in the other thread, but I'm intending on getting something Celtic, maybe a small Celtic cross, or something written in Chinese, but I'm scared of getting awrong translation.

There are sites out there that, for a small fee, will make sure you have the correct translation...

I have two tattoos! My first one is on my ribs down to my stomach and it's of a bird, and next to it , it says in Latin, "Amor vincit omnia" which means "love conquers everything". And I have one on my shoulder/right arm that says Hope in Chinese letters. And yes, in case anyone's wondering, I am 100% it's the right translation :P I'm gonna take pics of them as soon as I get a new camera (my old one is broken)

it's so cool to have a tattoo. i'm only 17 and my mum would kill me if i get one now. who knows, maybe next year if she allows me T.T

I've seen a close up of your bird, can you say where it's located and how large it is? It's very nice.

Personally, I don't know what or where I'd put one. I'd like to design my own. I kind of like that bar tag they had on "Dark Angel".

My wife has one of a plane from when she loved to fly. I must say it was one of the things that attracted me to her... :P
