Hey everyone,

I know we are all working very hard on the playlists and setting our goals in playing her songs, but I think it's a major time for us to also start setting a goal on how many we can't get to add Carly as a friend. It would be best to get on it now while we are starting to get news every so often about Carly's album.

We should set a goal for Christmas. So we can take on the new year with more Carly fans and have a better success in getting word out on her and her music.

And how we can approach it is everyone post bulletins on their myspace's with a small message about Carly and a link to her myspace page for them to go to and add and check out who this amazing upcoming artist is.

You can also make fliers, postcards and take them to your local coffee shops, restaurants, on campus, at your job, anywhere that you get permission to have them out for people to grab.

Another good thing is go to Heart fanforums, Avril Lavigne, Evanescence, any other Rock artist and music forums and post a little bit about Carly with the link to her myspace.

Now is the time for us to start working even harder on getting the word out about Carly and her music before her album is released, but doesn't mean we stop there.

Marie would like to see 200000 friends on Carly's myspace by christmas in total. But don't be discouraged if we don't get that many, but we can sure work hard in getting a good amount. So what do you guys say? Are you ready to Come Together for Carly?! :grouphug:

Hi Jennie, you guys might also want to consider posting something on Carly's Idol Forum too (not AI.com but the IDF's). There are lots of Carly fans on there and some of them aren't members here. I can post something if you want-just tell me what to post and I'll do it.

I thought we would do this when carly gets some new music out, but if it's needed now, i'm on it :yes:

This was actually Marie's idea, she brought it up and in a big way makes since, but we can still always do this once her album is announced and we have a single.

I'm doing what I can.I have given out and will continue to give out fliers and cards in my town,also different places I travel.I'm also posting bullitins and sending messages to my myspace friends.
I sent Marie and Derm messages about having someone with access to Carly's official to start doing friend requests like all the other bands.I told them I would be willing to help with this and I'm sure someone else would volunteer too.That decision would be up to them,but I think this would be very effective to hit every myspacer out there.

what else can we be working on?

ash- that's pretty much all we can really do right now is:

-get carly known online and offline, including her myspace and setting that goal to get her friends.
-continue playing her songs on her playlist.
-getting word out and donating to emma.
-and anything else that she has mentioned when she was here saturday night.

so far that's all we can do other then setting up the street teams and preparing ourselves for the major things to come. unless you have other ideas of what things we need to work on. cheryl, mel, shelly, and i will be meeting sometime this week i believe on updating more with the street team as well so there might be more added as well for everyone to do.

marie, josh and myself accept all the friend requests daily so there are no outstanding requests there. the reason it is fairly low is that we were late setting this up and there were lots of fake sites who stole friends from us. good idea to boost the friends put the page will be taken over by her management soon so it will be their job to do all that soon.

I think this would be very effective.But it would have to be someone with access to her official to do the requests straight from there so all people have to do is hit approve.I'll do everything that I can spreading the news.I hope that this helps,and I know if you talk to angels they could come up with some volunteers for this that would be trustworthy,I know I would certainly help and I have time to give.

oh yeah, well just go to different music forums and add the links there with a small description of carly and continue to post fliers.

i forgot all about her management taking over soon, that's right. it was a very good idea, but her management and herself might be the only ones able to have the information for her myspace once they take over.

just continue what your doing, it's an amazing job what you and everyone is doing. just continue to browse ideas as well, but never give up! :hug:

Recieved another message from Derm,a little misunderstanding,he didn't realize Marie told me to send the idea to him and that it is mentioned here that Marie would like to have the friend count go up to 200000,so he is going to talk to her about it.
Anyhow,keep doing what we are and see about some new ideas to reach people on myspace that are not currently on her friend list. :carly:

Just another thought maybe the Street Team page could do this and maybe by increasing their friends it would increase Carly's official.I would volunteer my time if needed.Just trying to come with ideas.

want to explain more? I'm not fully understanding exactly what you mean by that.

If street team does friend requests to their page for people that don't have Carly official it might bring friends to her page as well.If this makes sense?It's just a thought,I'm trying to think of ideas.

oh i see what you are saying! that is a very good idea as well and something that should be done, we just have to becareful who we add. there are a lot ads on myspace now.

I have several bands on my page so I will be going back and really looking at those pages and checking out their streetteams as well,who knows might find new ideas.

I just thought about this, we can also go to the myspace classifields and under Music Announcements as well as the myspace message board and post about Carly and a link to her page.

I noticed someon had posted on EvThreads - which are Evanescence boards -

great idea!

I just wanted to note something as constructive criticism - I have been on these boards and this post seemed a little like a form letter and doesn't mention a couple of things - 1) Carly has already been the subject of some discussion on Evanescence boards and 2) That she covered Ev on the Idol tour.

I think we should tweak the message to be a little different for each board based on what we know about them.

we can add iidol fans, heart, u2, evanescence, etc. there are so many options.

hmm... yeah maybe i should have tweaked it for the evanescence fanforum. I used that message on a couple music forums after posting a little bit first just so no one took me as a spammer.

The Ellen Show is having Achie back on Friday,another idea start emailing talk shows to have Carly back on when she cuts a record.I know Ellen usually gives the audience copies of cd's to promote new artists,that is a good group of people to promote.

the second one sounds like a good idea to get their attention better then by just adding them then they probably won't pay any attention.
