Hi Everyone,
With Marie's help, we've come up with a new chat format which hopefully everyone will like much better. Each chat with Marie, 10 people will be randomly chosen to talk to Marie in the chat for 5 min, then if there is time, we will do an open chat.

This way everyone will have a fair chance to talk to Marie and participate in the chat. We will only ask that everyone obey the chat rules and be respectful in the chat room.

Anyone that is interested in being one of the 10 can send an email to chat@carlysangels.net with your name and chat room username. We will draw 10 names at random this week out of everyone that emails by this Thursday at midnight. These will be the 10 for the next chat with Marie. We will also draw 2 alternates in case someone can't make it to the chat. If your name is drawn and you miss a chat or if you are chosen as an alternate and don't get to chat, you will be added to the 10 for the next chat. We will continue drawing names for each chat. If you miss this Thursday's deadline you will be eligible for the following drawing. Once you've chatted with Marie, you can't go back into the pool until everyone has had a chance to talk to her.

We'll evaluate the new format after the next chat with Marie to see how it worked. Hopefully this will work better for everyone.

And hopefully this makes sense - I've been watching coverage of this historic election all night so if I've confused anyone, please let me know!!!

I don't think this is going to work either I'm sorry to say that but that's my opinion.

Great (and fair) idea-sounds like fun. Can't wait for the next chat!!!

Obviously there's no perfect solution for this, but I think we have to try to balance the free-for-all of open chat with the desire to really have a proper Q & A without too many distractions, not to mention that everyone understandably wants a little personal chat time with Marie.

I think this is a good solution - it may require a few tweaks to perfect it as we go, but I think we should do our best to make it work.

I`m willing to try,as long as Marie is comfortable with this.I do have a question-are the 10 people sending emails also going to be sending their questions to you so you can send to Marie as usual?This might help Marie as well.Just a thought.

Just to clarify, do we have to have a specific question for Marie to be part of the 10?

It'll be interesting to see this work, I'm not going to be pessimistic until I see what happens on Friday, sounds like it should work well :)

I hope everyone will give this chat format a chance. I think it is the best way for everyone to be able to talk to Marie at some point.

And I don't think you need to have specific questions ready but it couldn't hurt to have some in mind.

As Shelly said, no, you don't need a specific question.

I have a question-do we know when the next chat with Marie will be? Since she's visiting Carly in LA this week, I assume that she won't be able to make it tomorrow night.

Just thinking that people would be quicker to sign up if they knew when the chats would take place and could plan ahead to be there.

I'd love to do it but I'd need to know when since I typically can't make it, I would have to make arrangements be there.

Yes, Marie is in L.A. so the first one won't be this week. I think we are shooting for next week. I'm a little shocked that more people aren't signing up... especially after all the feedback about feeling left out. This is your chance to talk to Marie 1:1! With us all watching of course... :haha:

Okay, Shelly makes 3 that have signed up. Anyone else? Forum members can also request being added to the list by sending a pm to this login (carlysangels). Make sure the subject is "chat" and that you include your first name and your chat room user name.

Also, for those of you that are concerned that the chats with Marie are typically short notice, remember - if your name is picked to be one of the 10 and you can't make the chat, one of the alternates will take your place and you will be added to the list for the next session.

I never said that I felt left out,my comment was that I liked the way it was set up before,but there needs to be less people on when Marie is on.I liked the format of question and answers with one of you asking the questions,then letting everyone speak.

We can't make it to where less people are on though, although I'm sure there is a way, but that really wouldn't be fair at all to not let those in that want in the chatroom. :)

It's worth a try so I think everyone should give it a chance to see how it goes and if you want to talk to Marie 1:1, especially if you don't have a myspace here is your opportunity. Marie is also wanting to make it equal for everyone and inorder for it to work we have to give it atleast one shot.

Go ahead and put me down as an alternate as well Cheryl. I wasn't going to add myself to it to let everyone else have a chance because I don't mind watching the conversations.

I don't think she meant not letting anyone in the chatroom, I think she meant only giving one admin a voice and absolutely no-one else, rather than all the admin at once. But this new way solves that too :)

I was ok with the chat the way it was. but I'll go with the flow. I'm not going to put my name in cause I'd rather just sit back and soak it in. besides, I sook at holding converstions :(
anyway thanks to TPTB for working with everyone.

When I got back last night,it was late for chat.But when I checked the chat room there were people including Csmom.Didn't want to come in late.Is there going to be a post of this chat?

hey nancy, i think we are just going to post anything that the fans will want to know about carly. we have to look at the transcript again and get all that out. the chat wasn't like a usual question and answer and it was just a bunch of different random conversations accept for a few questions. we didn't even know marie was going to pop in.

No, she's talking about the chat the other night when Marie popped in unexpectedly. We were mostly chatting about nothing but Marie did say a few things about Carly that the fans would like to know, so guess she's going to post that.
