Street Team Assignment 1 - 10-6-08 (Carly's Angels Forum)

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for signing up for the Carly Smithson Street Team! It's great to see so many familiar names AND new ones too! We're so excited to be working with all of you to help promote Carly and her music.

This is a slow time right now while we wait for news about what Carly will do next. However, there are some projects we can work on during the wait. Some of our overseas members have expressed concern over what they can do to help, but don't worry, there is plenty to be done in every country. Carly has an international appeal and the projects below can be done anywhere!

1. Tell all your Carly friends about the Street Team. Encourage them to join! We need new members all over the country & world to spread the word about Carly in our area. Send them to www.carlysangels.net/streetteam.html to register and also tell them to add the Carly Smithson Street Team at http://www.myspace.com/carlystreetteam

2. Promote Carly locally. Right now, we are directing people to Carly's Angels, the Carly's Angels forum and Carly's Official MySpace for more information on Carly. You can help spread the word with some of the materials we've created. (right click on the link and choose save target as)

You can download these cards and print them on cardstock and cut them apart: http://www.carlysangels.net/images/streett...yerforCarly.pdf

You can also download these flyers and copy them on bright coloured paper:

Put the cards and flyers where ever you are allowed - schools & colleges in common areas, on community bulletin boards at libraries, stores, coffee shops, restaurants, community centers, record stores, etc. If you have store or know someone who does, put the cards and flyers there as well. If you are going to any concerts, take plenty of cards and flyers. You can leave them in the restrooms and by the concessions and hand them out to people you meet. There are cards for different artists in the Street Team section. If you need some for a different artist, please let us know.

3. Collect email addresses from people that are interested in Carly. Let them know that we will send them updates on Carly and her upcoming album. Assure them that the email address will be kept private and only used for Carly news. Send the addresses you collect to us here at carlysangels.net@gmail.com and we will add them to the mailing list we are building.

There are excited things in the works for Carly and we will be here to support her all the way. Let us know how your promotional projects go and feel free to visit the forum.carlysangels.net to discuss street team projects and ideas.

We are working on some items for Street Team and Carly's Angels members including a Carly's Angels T-Shirt & Street Team Wristbands! As soon as they are ready we'll let everyone know.

Thanks for sending out that email! It was a pleasant surprise in my inbox the other day. I have a question about the flyers though. I was thinking about printing up the ones on colored paper but I was just thinking that whoever sees it posted on a bulletin boards, probably won't tear the whole thing down, so they might not remember the web address. I've seen flyers before with those phone numbers and websites, etc at the bottom of the page and you can just tear one off to keep because it's cut in between.
I have no idea how to revise the pdf file of the flyer, so could somebody who knows how maybe add a few web addresses at the bottom turned sideways? Idk but maybe ppl would be more likely to remember and look up Carly's music if they had something tangible in their hand.

i have seen these! that would be good, b/c if i put some up at my school, id be able to see if people were tearing off the site and that would be a good indicator of how effective the flyers were

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking :) I could just stop by from time to time to see how many were torn off and that would be a good indicator of how effective they were, as you said

On street teams myspace-about half way down on right side.There is a postcard and two flyers.The blue one is my favorite.The only problem with these is when you copy and print it does four,and two are reversed as far as the pic of Carly-and nothing annoys me more than to see pics of Carly`s tattoo on the wrong arm.Sorry this really bugs me .
Anyhow the blue one does just fine and is a beautiful pic of her.I am going to some church sponsored events at the end of the month for Halloween and I think they would allow me to pass these out more so than the others.
Please don`t take me the wrong way,I love the other flyers as well,I just think that having different flyers for different events would be nice.I know the people here and these events attract people from 5 other towns-that`s alot of people to expose.I will be carrying both and giving these out.It`s a small town and there are alot of closed minded people that would see these and say oh she`s a rocker which Carly is not.I just want Carly to have the chance she deserves to be heard.
We are talking about not only exposing people that know her but those that don`t.
I hope this came out right as not to offend Carly or anyone else.

Yeah Christine that's what I was thinking. My sister has been stressing about those tickets for weeks, so I'm glad she got them. I think I'll have good luck with David's fans cuz most of them consider Carly to be their favorite female contestant. Now if he would invite Carly (and Michael) to join him it would really be a great show. :)

I think this is a great idea too. Carly appeals to people with all kinds of musical tastes so we should market her to all types of people. I will work on a design for you. What is the date of the event?

It won't be identical to Jennie's design because I don't want to copy it. Do you want to pick out a photo for me to use?

It`s Oct.31-the church sponsers a huge Halloween party for the kids and this attracts like I said people from 5 different towns,great opportunity to promote Carly,with people of all ages. Let me look through photobucket and I`ll send you an email.Thanks!

I want something similar to that with some tour pictures of her on it-maybe singing Bring Me to Life or Crazy on You and then the websites information at the bottom. Would that be too much trouble or do you guys already have something like that?

I printed out a whole bunch of fliers earlier (I've been a lurker prior to signing up :o) and put them on bulletin boards and in our student activities office where a lot of people stop and pick up things (like 20 dollar broadway tickets, etc). :ipod:

BTW I know a lot of Cook fans who are Carlook fans...they're helping out too! :D

Yes Cheryl, the ones in the attachment were exactly what I was thinking and I agree with you on the "check out Carly..."part and I think a picture of Carly and David and the "love Carly too...." would be perfect. Do you have any pictures of them together cuz I wouldn't have a clue where to look? Also, can it be just one big flyer instead of the little sections like the one you attached? First I need to say the black and white fliers are perfect,it`s the cards I would like to see a different kind.The cards we have now I feel are beautiful-but not everyone was able to see Carly on tour.These cards are great for giving out at concerts for people there probably got to see the tour.

I feel we should if possible and allowed do a second set for other events showing Carly with idol show pictures.Most people will recognize her from the show,especially those who missed the tour.

I have had a a hard time picking out specific pictures because I love every picture out there.She is beautiful in every one.If we could use different pictures from idol like the ones of the tour would be great also showing her beautiful tattoo.

I hope I`m not being a problem,but I`m going to a big event for this town and 5 others and I want to have the best exposure,for she has worked so hard and deserves the very best.I also have the chance to hook up with the Highschools in these towns while there and get these into the schools as well.

I would like to be able to have both sets of cards-idol getting the attention and tour showing she is on the way up.

Thanks Cheryl,they are beautiful and perfect.

I think these will be better than the others for not everyone got to see Carly on tour.Like when I went to the hairdresser she was like who? I feel these people will recognize her better.It`s also been awhile for alot of people not having exposure to Carly and unfortunatly some have forgotten,but these will refresh their memory.

I've been trying to print out the David/Carly flyers for two days and my stupid printer keeps messing up, so I need to express a little frustration with these : :wall: :hitcomputer:

I'm not giving up though-I'm gonna get them finished tonight cuz we're leaving for the charity show in the morning. Thanks again Cheryl for doing this.
