i probably should've written this sooner but i just now found the time. luckily, i will never forget this night, so all is well.
all of the Carly stuff is in green
I made a Carly shirt and a Menchie Tater poster and went to try and meet the idols before the show. to make a long story short we stand there for close to 3 hours until some random guy says that the Idols wont be coming out due to the Larry King Live thing.
CONCERT.Chikezie (sp?) was ok. I felt bad becuase he had to start the show, and that would be difficult. But overall he was good. Ramiele. I wasn't too impressed with her's. but it was ok i guess. Michael. Holy crap. he is amazing live and he is so hot. 2nd favorite (nobody could beat carly.) Kristy. I wasnt expecting her to be as good as she was. Although i have to admit, the whole time I kept thinking of that video that somebody recorded of Carly backstage during Kristy's set. haha
CARLY. Wow. Simply amazing. words cant even describe how great she was. it was such a dream to see her live. My dad was never that big of a fan of her's and he's super critical but even he loved Bring me to Life. it was insanely awesome. and I almost cried. What a sap.Brooke.I love personality but that style is just not my favorite. Let it Be was great as always.
the group song was great. I love Marly and obviously the producer people know that they are great together cuz they always seem to be paired up. I love it.Jason. ok, i'll say it. he was my least favorite. but he improved a lot since the show. Syesha. I was really impressed with her last song, Listen. the other were good but Listen was magical. David A. he is such a cutie. he's so awkward when he talks and then he sings and completly owns the stage. its crazy. David C. amazing as always. although i couldnt get pass the overwhelming amount of guyliner.
then the final group number. i wanted to leave after Carly's solo so that i could get a good spot to meet the idols after the show. so Carly sings (her mic kept going in and out. what a bummer!) and i leave. so as i was walkin around to the baricade things i pop my head into the concert and saw a really cute Marly moment. it was right at the end of the song and they were both walking towards their final spots. and Michael stops and signals with his hand for Carly to go and she does this little skippy thing across the stage. it was so cute.so then i go down the barricades and it was already kinda full. but i managed to get behind these few girls so i wasnt too far back. so we're all standing there making polite chit-chat about our favorites. Then one at a time Kristy, Ramiele and Syesha come out. They were funny and kept talking in these ghetto voices. it was great.
then all of a sudden I hear "carly Carly!" "over here Carly!" and i like spaz out. haha, everybody around me looked at me cuz they knew she was my favorite. So she finally makes her way over and I am holding up my Menchie Tater Poster and she looks at it but can't really read it so she reaches for it and reads it and smiles and signs it and then hands it back to me. and I give her the letter I wrote her and am like "Thank you so much Carly! I love you." and she's all "I love your poster. Your welcome and thank you so much!" Then she keeps signing. I really wanted my shirt signed but I wasnt at the front so I had to take it off (I had on a shirt underneath, dont worry lol) my dad is really tall and loud so he screams Carly, can you sign my daughter's shirt? and she hears him and looks over and lips "sorry. i have to go this way. so sorry" and kinda tilts her head at the security people. so then she finishes the entire line and I guess she remembers my shirt and so she comes back around to our side where my dad is still holding it up and leans over the people in order to get the shirt. Then she takes it over to the side and reads it and everything and signs it really big and hands it back to my dad. and he's like "my daughter adores you!" and she says thank you so much and then is dragged back inside.it was awesome that she remembered mine. best day ever. although i now find myself holding a grudge against Larry King.

American Idols Live Tour
August 18th, 2008
It starts in January 2008 when thousands of people want to attempt to become the next American Idol. This show is watched by millions; from four-year old children to elderly couples. The thousands that try out sadly turn to hundreds and then the best of the group shine through; the top ten. Eight months pass and they are finally ready to perform for a crowd of 13,000 people at the Gwinnett Arena in Duluth, Georgia. This specific show was the 35th out of 50 shows in this country-wide tour.
All ten idols were completely comfortable with the absence of the dreaded Simon Cowell breathing down their necks as they performed. They all sang three songs each, with the exception of the winner and the runner up; the Davids. David Archuleta sang four songs and David Cook sang five songs. During the actual show their type of voices could not be released with the limited song choices; whereas during the tour they were allowed to “be themselves.”
I will not be focusing on the singer’s specific pitch or key in this review, I will however be looking at overall sound, performance, wardrobe, and energy. Even though I would love to review all ten idols, I will only be reviewing four of them; Kristy Lee Cook, Carly Smithson, Brooke White, and David Archuleta, These four performers really “stuck out” to me.
The lovely and beautiful Kristy Lee Cook was up. Being voted off 7th place from the show did not seem to stop this country girl. Her song choices were very different then the rest of the idols. Like previous blond, country idols (Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler) Kristy can sing some good country. Her song choices were “Squeezin the Love Outta You”, “God Bless the USA” and” Cowgirls.” Kristy’s voice was absolutely beautiful, especially during “God Bless the USA.” Her vocals were huge during this song. She was extremely energetic; running around the whole stage. Kristy really did not have a set chorography, just doing what she pleases. Her wardrobe completely suited her sparkly personality. Jewels were everywhere; from her white tank top and bracelets to her belt. She even had a little sparkle on her khaki jeans. Even her microphone was covered in jewels.
Next was the absolutely gorgeous and down to earth Irish lass, Carly Smithson, who was voted off too soon from the show. This devastated thousands of fans, but being voted off 6th place did not put one tear in her eye. Carly Smithson is unconditionally the best singer in American Idol Season Seven history! She opened with “Bring Me to Life,” moving to “Crazy on You,” and concluded with “I Drove All Night.” Every single song choice was absolutely breathtaking. These songs showed what she really could not show during American Idol; a MASSIVE voice. As like Kristy Lee before her, Carly didn’t have a specific chorography, just running around elegantly as she pleases. Carly’s “concert” was undoubtedly the best performance of the night. Her set was complete from the wonderful green lighting to the wind blowing through her gorgeous, dark brown hair. Her wardrobe was amazing; a mini dress, which was tank style. Black at the top moving to a gold/silver somewhat kind of jewels on the bottom half. She wore a pair of black tights underneath the dress. Finishing off with a pair of massive black heel boots; probably near five inches tall. With the song choices, the wardrobe, and of course the voice; Carly Smithson is the complete package.
Brooke White was flawless. Her elimination at the top 4 spot disappoint her, but did not stop her one bit. Her song choices included “Let it Be”, “1234”, and “Yellow.” Brooke’s energy was a bit different from Kristy Lee and Carly because Brooke did not run around the stage. She definitely had energy, just a different kind; playing the piano for the 1st and 3rd song and playing the guitar sitting down for the 2nd song. Brooke has a sense of sophistication that I did not see with anyone else’s performance. Her voice was absolutely amazing. She really gave it her all during “Let it Be.” I was watching her feet on the piano peddles during “Yellow,” and I have never seen anyone’s feet move as fast as hers did. It was amazing. She wore a white and brown silk top that suited her figure perfectly with a pair of dark skinny jeans. Besides almost tripping while getting up from the piano after “Let it Be” and performing completely barefoot, Brook White was AWESOME!
David Archuleta is a complete cutie pie. This seventeen year old heart-throb is LOVED by almost every pre-teen and teenage girl in the USA. Some may say he is too young and needs more experience, but what better way to “practice” than to be runner up on American Idol. His choices were “Angels”, “Apologize”, a medley of “Stand by Me/Beautiful Girls” and “When You Say You Love Me.” Even though he did not win, he is definitely a winner to me. He was amazing. Yes, he may be young, but his voice unquestionably does not need any work. He did as Kristy and Carly did by moving while singing, so he had a louder kind of energy. He wore a dark grey suit, which had something shiny along the edge of the jacket. The jacket was unbuttoned with a black graphic t-shirt underneath. Finishing off with a pair of red tennis shoes and a red watch to match. I only have one word for David Archuleta; INCREDABLE!
I had an absolute wonderful time. Even though there were some performances I did not like at all, there were more that I loved! I would totally recommend everyone who likes American Idol to go to a concert next year. It is remarkable and worth every single penny!

I loved your review, especially the Carly part. She is the complete package. Her amazing voice, wonderful stage presence and cool outfit really made her the best of the top ten for me too. She was so awesome!!!
