Cheryl, Mel, Jennie and I are currently working hard to get Carly's Street Team up and fully functional. We have so many great ideas to keep supporting Carly as she makes the transition from Idol to recording artist. Carly and MJ will be putting out a duet sometime in the near future and this will be our first major project - making sure this single is successful and that we keep Carly in the public eye.

The street team myspace is still undergoing a lot for progress. I'm still a little iffy on the layout that is up, if anyone has any suggestions as far as layouts let me know. I might just end up going with more of a headshot of Carly and just do it like that, but if everyone can read what is on the page and doesn't think it's too much with what is up now then I'll keep that up for awhile.

Any suggestions anyone has is more then welcome to contribute. There will be more up as well it's just a matter of getting it all set up.

I like it the way it is now, then again, if you changed something I'm sure I would like it that way too!!!

What exactly is Carly's Street Team?

John have you looked at the myspace? It shows a lot of what it is..

But I will try to describe Street Team as best I can. Most artists have Street Teams, some are just ran by fans and some are ran by the management. It's mostly a way to get word on the street about an artist. Two simple words to describe promotion.

So, it's just promoting the artist. Not only just buying the cds ourselves, but requesting at stations, making sure the fans know what to do as far as requesting the singles, the videos, getting more creative and giving out postcards and fliers of when the date is in our areas and so much more. It's just taking the artist to the streets as far as promoting.

Just check out the myspace, it's not completely put together, there's so many other ideas we have, but it gives you an idea.

I had myspace but never really used it until Carly. I'm not a huge fan of myspace but for Carly it's worth it... :carly:

oh john you don't have to have myspace to keep up to date with it. It's not private or anything.

and I'm with shelly on that. I was hardly ever on my myspace, but it is a good way to promote your favorite artists so i have used it a lot more then what I normally would.

I put Carly and the street team in my top friends. Hopefully, they'll attract people from Maine. :]

I don't know if any of you are going to concerts in the near future but if you are, PLEASE let us know. We want you guys to hand out Carly postcards to the fans there. There are some one-sided postcards on the Street Team site but we are currently working on making them two-sided.

We will get more postcards up soon...

Yes we are working on more postcards, the first set didn't work out as planned, but we're figuring out how to make it work like it should. :blush:

Oh and I'm taking the other ones down soon because I am adding the Fan Forum as well to them to attract people and other fans here directly and not just through carlysangels.net, but Shelly gave me that idea and the two sided idea so you will have to thank her for that!

I'm going to try to figure this out some more and make an example copy just to make sure it prints right, I should have done it the first time, but didn't think about it. :unsure:

tali- actually you'd be surprised at how much you guys can do as well as far as taking carly to the streets there. you guys actually can have the advantage of doing just as much as here, but it will take a lot more effort to get the single there to your radio stations and the album in your stores, but if they see a major liking on an artist they are quick about it, but we have plenty of things for everyone to be able to do and not just online. :)

Oh and we could make two different shirts. a street team shirt with a streetteam design and then a carlysangels design or we can add it together. it's something to look into and come up with something for.

We already have plans for Carly's Angels shirts... be on the lookout for that news... :w00t:

And we have been talking about getting new wristbands. I'd love to hear what you guys think about that.... if there is any interest?

I totally think there is so much for international fans to do... as Jennie said, there really isn't much you CAN'T do. I hope that you guys will still try to get the word out about Carly... get your radio stations to play her and all that. Especially IRELAND. :shamrock:

Oh wow yay! It's good to hear something is already in the works for a carlys angels shirt!

The new wristbands thing sound good as well and the profits going to a charity carly goes with. There's so many different things that can be done. wristbands. hats. keychains. magnets for cars. fridge magnets. calenders. mugs. and much much more... it's awesome how online you can make anything however you want it. so its an idea to start putting designs on different things like that for everyone.

i've seen a lot of people make wristbands and have the proceeds sent to their chosen charity along with car magnets. those two are actually very popular with that and shirts. i guess because it's also a way of getting others attention and spreads the word out on that particular charity.

yeah we do! I sent you an email back on that, we should get together soon and come up with one, what do you think? I can make it in paintshop or draw the design after the ideas are set.

I think it would be cool to have a couple designs to choose from/vote on. Cheryl works in graphic design so I think she could help too. :)

ive already been talking to my mom about things that her store could do!
-ive been working on photoshop too for flyers that could be put up at my school, western is a big music school we promote a looot of artists so im gonna set up a meeting with the campus activity board here soon to talk about ideas for campus promotion :)

Well, we are considering having new wristbands made... they would still say "Come Together for Carly" but they would be a different color. What we would probably do is order a bunch and then sell them to fans - the profit would go to Carly's chosen charity.

As for the shirts - we could do the same thing. We just need to come up with a design. :yes:
