First of all..thanks for having me here...

About a week after going to Toronto, I sent a message to Marie, Carly's mom because as a Mom myself..I really love it when someone tells me a story about how wonderful my child was...
I was taking a cake to Michael Johns...a fan cake..not for anything other than fan-love..it is how I expres myself...LOL
Anyhow, my friend and I see Carly...we totally lose it because she is only second to MJ and way up there too!!! We wave madly to her..she is behind glass in the ACC in TO....she wanted to help me bring in the cake to MJ...she said she would thru sign language..LOL...she came out and even yelled over the crowd to me...but I had passes to see him so I wanted to do it myself..I don't think Carly heard...anyhow, we went to the willcall lineup for the pre-show passes and a fan girl came running over to me..and said Carly is looking for you...I thought...looking for me!!!!!! :w00t: I said to the girl..I am taking in the cake in a second...thank her for me..I was so impressed by that.
...fast forward to the preshow...I get to take the cake in...Carly is sitting next to Michael...he loves the cake...I get a hug despite no touching the idols... :hug: Heavenly!!!
Carly was studying the cake and they can't believe the figures are made from fondant..anyhow...Carly sees David Puddy (his french bulldog pup) on the cake..and she went crazy...he is enthralled to...so we are shuffled along..I don't get my pic with MJ because they say I had my time...and I got the hug...
..that is why I was writing to her mother..to say despite the fact I was there for someone else, she did every thing she could to try and help me get that cake to MJ...I don't think too many people are willing to go above and beyond like that..

Fast forward to about a week after the TO concert...I had sent the message and pics to Marie...and I got a lovely message back...asking if I would make Carly's birthday cake..I nearly went crazy..I went running down to the backyard where my hubby was working I was just shrieking and screaming...LOL..pathetic I know

So I offered to bring it as it would never have survived a courier...LOL
I had to take it to Bridgeport CT..which was about an 9 hour car ride..I live outside of Ottawa...not too bad..how was I to know there would be torrential downpours so blinding I couldn't see at times :o

Cheryl called me to say they had an extra ticket for that concert..so ended up going with my friend who traveled with me..it was awesome..Cheryl was sooo helpful and nice..I couldn't believe it..we had a great time and the extra concert was just a gift...a total gift..seeing MJ and Carly perform was awesome. The only sad thing was that they didn't come out to the buses..they weren't allowed due to the weather.

I have to finish this up afterwards...LOL.. I have to do something in my real life...sigh...so this is installment number 1... :P

Hey CakeLulu-I was also at the Bridgeport show but I didn't know that Cheryl and Melanie were there too. I didn't get to meet Carly since they didn't come out due to the rain, but I did meet Marie in the arena lobby restaurant. That was so nice of you to bring that cake so far for Carly. She is my favorite Idol, but Michael is my second. I just love it when they sing together-they really compliment each other's voices. Can't wait to hear the rest of your story.

I brought Carly's cake through that torrential rain yesterday with my friend Carla from Toronto...11 hours 45 minutes...it sat in the car through the concert and it was finally handed over to Cheryl, from Carly's Angels..who was an amazing person....the cake then had to travel to Providence today....
Cheryl called me the day on Sunday and told me that Marie just loved the cake and that she was going to give it to Michael to give to Carly!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG..OMG..OMG..I was sooo freaked out...I was just so excited but nervous about how they liked it etc...

Meantime Allison, Kathy and Nancy my MJO chums arrived and we have all been visiting, screaming, and laughing ...we all went out to dinner and were a disturbance LOL...it was so great..we have pictures!!!

Right at the end of dinner, I got a call from Cheryl, (Carly's Angels)
who said that Carly loved her cake...then this voice came on my cell phone...it was Carly thanking me for the cake and saying how much she loved it and she saw her tattoo on the little kneeling Carly figure...she talked to me for about 5 minutes and 40 seconds according to Nancy who taped the entire thing LOL!!!
She said that Michael and her mom kept talking together and that they would come back with cake sparkles on their faces...LOL...
Michael presented her with the cake..I was sooo blown away..I told her I was so happy and thrilled ...I could barely speak at that point. She was sooo nice and amazing to me...my nose started to bleed...I think I exploded part of my brain..LMAO...
I didn't realize that until red was smeared across my face.. I told Carly to tell Michael to eat the black fondant so he would have a totally black tongue...LMAO!!!!
This was such an amazing cake moment for me!!! The fact that Carly was my top female and Michael of course is my total top...I love them both.. The fact that Michael gave Carly the cake was freaking awesome..I can't believe this ....I had an opportunity that is usually only given to the huge cake stars..
Anyhow, that is my cake news sp far!!!! I will be getting a picture of Carly with the cake and I also think she said that Michael too...I can't remember totally...I just bawled after the call...blown away..relieved...and a million other feelings :blush:

here is some more....sorry..I am long winded...LOL

I can't believe how wonderful MJ was ...dedicating the song for us..I could hardly stand it...I don't think any of us could considering the amount of blubbering that went on...OMG..it was such an emotional time...quivering chins..and lots of teary eyes..the girls in front of us..DC fans were in their 20s or so..they said they were sooo happy for us..they were really nice girls!!!
Anyhow, Carly's turn and I am so happy she is singing next..I was anxiously awaiting her kneeling in her song set so I could see how it looked against how I made the cake look...LOL..(mind of a decorator)

She does a great job and looks fantastic..I thought to myself that I loved the dress so much in person..all sparkles and beautiful ...the pics are great but they don't do it justice..that dress in person looks sooooo flippin gorgeous!
So we are on our feet for Carly for her whole set and then she gets to her last song and she starts talking saying there is a special guest in the audience and I hear my name being spoken by her...I think my heart stopped still...I don't think I breathed...
She goes on about it's her birthday and that I drove from Toronto (well close anyhow...LOL) and I was soo flattered and honoured and I was just sooo overwhelmed and I couldn't believe that she was saying this in the concert...I couldn't believe it...The spotlight was on me and Kathy and Carla and Nancy were pointing at me...so the spotlight could find it..(I didn't know until afterwards about that).....she loved the cake and I believe she said it was beautiful..I wanted to die right then..
So not only did Carly call me, she talked about the cake on stage with the area full...it was surreal...my hands didn't come away from covering my mouth...
I will love Carly forever for saying this next part...she said that I made a cake for Michael Johns and I remember hearing her say it had his dog on it too..so she mentioned Michael's cake...the one I took to TO...I wanted to just cry and cry.....I don't know what I was doing.....when she started to sing..I have to say that we cheered and I jumped and I want to bear hug Carly I am so happy..and shocked and overwhelmed and emotional. My heart was beating like Michel's drumbeat...strong..frig...I didn't know how to stand anything more..
The song was awesome and after she finished..I scream and jump and clap..she points at me and smiled at me a few times when she was singing.
When she finished..I just cried and cried and cried...
I know she mentioned MJ's cake because she knew how much I adore that man...I can't believe how wonderful and kind she is..she is a beautiful person..both to look at and her heart is huge along with that fab voice of hers!!!

I want to listen to Brooke's singing but I can't ..I am emotional and completely weird feeling...it is difficult to describe...between MJ and then Carly...I was topsy turvy inside..a mess...mental...I wonder to myself how I can even look at MJ or Carly without totally losing it and bawling my eyes out.... My face is a thousand shades of red...from everything...
The intermission comes and some people want to take my picture...it is very surreal...

Carly told me a funny story....she said just before she came up on stage..MJ said to her...JUST REMEMBER..SHE WAS MY FAN FIRST....Carly said she laughed so hard she could hardly start her song...I laughed when I heard it too!!! LOL...


I will talk about the afterparty tomorrow...sleep for me now!!!!

That is such a great story!!! Carly and Michael are the nicest people and it sounds like they really made your day. I did see the picture of your cake and the kneeling figure is so cute. You are very talented at cake making. Can't wait to hear the rest.

thanks for you great comments...It was pretty emotional...I love, love cake decorating..it is my passion...like Carly's and MJ's singing..I live and breath it.

It was the biggest cake opportunity that I probably will ever have...

Carly was soooo awesome...I never expected anything..I only wanted to hear that she liked it..that was it..I got sooo much more.

I seen a picture of the cake you made and it was absolutely amazing! You have a lot of talent in that and it shows your very passionate about it! I might have to stop by MJO and see if there is a picture of Michael's cake, I'd love to see that too.

You deserve every bit of the attention Carly and Michael gave to you and I'm so happy you enjoyed yourself and that they both could make this tour experience for you unforgettable. It's very clear they both appreciate you very much for what you have done and this is also going to be something unforgettable for the both of them.

And thank you so much for making a birthday cake for Carly, that was real sweet of you and it was absolutely gorgeous!

The afterparty was so much fun. We got in there and MJ was sooo busy with a ton of people all ready..he greeted us...and we just watched him do his thing..all 5 of us were just standing in a line beside him...we called it the MJO wall of Love..LOL..

When I realized he was going to be busy I went right over to Carly..and she finished with a fan and then she gave such a great hug..I hugged her back and told her so many thanks...we laughed a bit..got a pic..she looks wonderful..me...um...not so good..LOL it is not in photobucket yet but will post t soon.
That is when she told me she almost couldn't start singing she was laughing hard...MJ said before she went up on stage...remember Carly...she was my fan first!!!! LOL...I LOVE that!!!
I got her to sign a picture of her when she was singing the Letter with MJ...I am stupid..I should have got her to sign the pic that represents the cake!!! ARGH..
but I loved the Letter picture..it is with MJ and they are both looking fabulous.
I told her how much I loved that dress she wore..she said that she nearly didnt' get to wear it..the AI people said it was tooo short...LOL...they have to be kidding..it was sooo pretty. I am glad in the end they let her!!!

So there was a lineup for Carly...so we hugged again and I went back to MJ...a little later on...we were having some fun and doing kissing pics with MJ (he would only do the with our group...he called over to Carly...Help Carly!!! They are trying to kiss me!!!!!...LOL..he was laughing and he loved it...we were all acting the fool.

Carly also got a Mavid T-shirt from some fans and she put it on!!!! The girl was thrilled...MJ asked why she was wearing that...they tease each other big time from what I could see!!!

So...faster than I wished..the a/p was over. Carly came up to me...and gave me another big hug..I said I would never forget the night...and that she was sooo awesome and to have a happy birthday. :cake:

We said our goodbyes to MJ and got our hugs again...we walked out with him.

I have a tidbit of funning with MJ and Carly from the A/P on the 7th.
Lyn one of the MJO girls was there and MJ got a sign with some awesome and hot looking pictures of him.....he called to Carly and said something to the effect that now she could hang up the pics of MJ on her wall...I believe she rolled her eyes at him...LOL...

I hope I can write another recap for her tour!!! I am sooo going if she comes to Canada in the Toronto/Ottawa area or within driving distance of me!!!

BTW, your pics were an immense help to me when I was making the cake...looking at Carly's dress, how she kneeled...the microphone...her tattoo..her hair, jewelry etc...
I printed out sooo many of them...it looked like the photo gallery on my dining room table..LOL
