While it remains to be seen if "Idol" will be a stepping stone to bigger and better things for any of these overnight sensations or just another bridge to nowhere, there was no denying the diamond-in-the-rough talent of Carly Smithson. Her spirited take on Heart's "Crazy on You" was especially impressive.

"It's so easy to sing in front of this many people, as opposed to one Simon Cowell," Smithson quipped, getting a laugh at the expense of the acerbic "Idol" judge.

Carly: Holy cow. That girl can ROCK. Seriously, she needs to put out a rock album, because she has the pipes and the presence for it, no doubt. All of our favorite song was her first one, "Bring Me to Life." But I loved "Crazy on You" and "I Drove All Night" as well. She was really and truly amazing. (Plus, she has a great rack and I'm jealous. )

Great performance, as usual! But what I loved the most is how HAPPY she looks... :D

BTW, I'm so glad that she decided to start regularly straightening her hair - it looks fabulous!

Yeah she had a huge smile on her face while she was singing, and when she smiles I cant help but smile :)
