Hi Everyone,
We've had a lot of requests for a chat room here and after quite a bit of discussion and research we've found one that will work. Those of you that have been around for a while know that there have been issues with chat rooms on other Carly sites and we don't want any problems with this one.

So, we have found a chat room that only allows registered members to chat. Jennie and Tali have agreed to moderate the chat and chats will also be logged so we can watch for inappropriate activity and ban users.

Jennie and Tali are going to organize scheduled chats so everyone can talk to each other, and we'll leave the chat room on in case anyone wants to chat at other times. If there are any problems, we'll remove the chat. We hate to punish the majority of the fans for the few trouble makers so hopefully the precautions we've taken will prevent issues.

By registering and using Carly's Angels chat, you agree to follow the chat room rules. This chat is moderated and logged and violators will be suspended or permanantly banned from the chat.

1. Do not post any lies. Do not claim to be anyone other than yourself. DO NOT claim to be Carly, her family or friends. We don't expect anyone from Carly's family to come to the chatroom unannounced, but have pre-created the following logins: CarlySmithson, ToddSmithson, KevinDickinson, Dermot, Marie & Shannon. Be wary of anyone claiming they are family or friends of Carly. If in doubt, check with us. That being said, remember, like the forums, chat rooms are public and anyone could be reading what you write. Think before you speak - don't post anything you would be ashamed of Carly or her family seeing.

2. Do not spread rumors. If you have heard something be sure to post that you do not know if it is true.

3. Be respectful. Healthy debate is always welcome but consider people's feelings. Bashing others will NOT be tolerated.

4. Use appropriate language. There are many minors that use this site, so please refrain from profanity.

5. Please use your forum login in the chat as well so everyone can easily recognize each other.

6. Now that all the rules are out of the way, HAVE FUN!!!

I'm not much of a conversationalist. But I my pop in from time to time.

I understand that, Jay. I'm not a big fan of chatroom as I prefer 1:1 conversations. But I just spent some time in there and it was pretty amazing. :heart:

hahaha i've had some problems wih chatrooms... i try to avoid them now. but i'll probably stop by this one every once in a while :)

Glad you decided to open a chat room. Perhaps I'll be more social and get comfortable with everyone. That's why I haven't really posted on the forums. :blush: Hope to chat with all of you.

I'll try and pay a bit more attention when I'm in there - I get too easily distracted and then I left it like 10 minutes of me being logged in but not posting anything :blush:

ok I feel like Carly here .... technology challenged. I registered and activated. there were supposedly two people in the chatroom, so in I go. nada. zilch. zippo. not a soul around. * off to find my "Chatrooms For Dummies" book *

Edit: and the panel to the right is empty. It says "Updating" at the top, but doesn't appear to be doing anything. Do I need some 3rd party software, like Java?

I went in a little while ago and John and I were the only ones there, but it worked fine. I saw a few people enter but they left real fast. I don't think you need any special software to work it, but you might want to ask Shelly or Cheryl. I'm not very electronically savvy either so I'm not very good with this stuff.

i think a chatroom is a great idea. although i might not catch too much of you online because of the timezone difference and everything.

it works fine from my computer at work.

Yeah, I got that Updating thing at first too. Then I turned my firewall off and it worked. It could be that your computer protection won't take the cookies.

A weekend chat would be great considering I work 4am to 6 pm Monday through friday :haha: I SO Need a vacation!
