Title: What are you taking to the concert?

Lstn2Me - August 7, 2008 12:48 PM (GMT)
So what kind of stuff are you taking with you on concert day? We will be arriving early to hopefully meet Carly. I hope it's less than 95 deg than day. Here's my list:
  • still camera (our video camera is broke)
  • green glow sticks (I already have a bunch of green glow bracelets, but not sticks)
  • my Come Together For Carly wrist band which I will wear, and I have another one (black with pink letters) that I'll give to Carly (but I'm not gonna wear it beforehand cause I wouldn't want to give it to her with my sweat all over it. Ewww).
  • snacks
  • bottled water
  • pics for the Idols to autograph
  • sharpie pens
  • Ultimate High cd for Carly to autograph
I was going to get another gift for Carly, but umm .... the wife nipped that in the bud

Am I forgetting anything?

I have a question: What kind of souvenirs do they have? I know they have the programs and David A and David C t-shirts - what else? Do they have anything Carly-related? I went to a show in season 3 and they had pins there you could buy for each Idol. I just want to know if I should bother bringing :money: for souvenirs...

Hi Shelly,
They don't have Carly pins, but we got some nice ones on ebay. Really you just need $30 - $25 for the program and $5 for the Carly picture. They have a poster of the top 10 (we bought one and then our cat slept on it and ruined it. not sure if we'll get another...). You can see all the souvenirs they have at idolstour.com.

Honestly, is the program even worth it? I mean, since I am currently trying to figure out ways I can have some extra money ;), I just don't know if I want to send that much on the program.

i wanted to get one of the american idol sweatshirts but they were like 60 bucks and i already spent allot of money buying carly pics lol

mcdreamgirl - August 14, 2008 03:24 PM (GMT)
~in my opinion the tour book was totally worth the money...yeah $25 is a lot for a book but each idol has a two page spread and interview, there's a page with messages to fans, and group photos. If I had a scanner, I'd send 'em to you, but alas, I am without one :(
~the $5 pictures are nice but I'd bring one of those plastic sleeves that hook into a binder so it doesn't get ruined cuz it's just thick paper :/
the tee shirts and whatnot are RIDICULOUS!!! It's like $35 for one with all the idols on it and in my opinion I could make a better one with transfer paper
~a wicked big bummer is that there are no individual idol stuff other than the David's...so no Carly pin, shirt, or anything of the sort :(
~the show is absolutely amazing!!!! I'm thinking about going another time but I would have to go alone-if anyone's going to the RI show at the Dunkin Center, let me know!!!
OH! bring back up batteries and a memory card with enough space for tons of Carly pics!!!!!!!!!!!

Shelly - August 14, 2008 04:29 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the advice, guys! :)

About the programs: I'm still not convinced it's worth it. I'm really not that into any of the other Idols. I mean, don't get me wrong - I like DC and MJ but is it still worth it just for the Carly stuff? And are there any big pictures in there that she could sign? Because I am not that fond of the picture they have of her for sale. Or is there more than one option?

About the Idol sweatshirt - they have them online for $45 plus $7.50 S&H. So, slightly cheaper than at the concerts...

As for the t-shirts - I love the plum one with the birds! Is it that cool in person?? I just love it because it looks like my tattoo - so cool! I'm definitely going to consider getting it...

Oh, and do they sell the other stuff such as the keychains, mugs, etc. at the shows?

My UH cd and wristbands which I'm taking to the concert. The black and pick one is for Carly. Pay no attention to the date on the pic, I just took it last night.

Hey Jay,

I froze some water bottles because it was nearly 100 at my venue. Fruit and snacks too if you plan to wait in line for hours. I've seen some fan have her sign the CD itself, I forgot to bring mine. She'd probably like a little souvenir from Texas as they may not have time to shop or sightsee...

one more thing, you might have her sign the letter we sent with our finale flowers. I brought mine but it was overlooked with my two pictures. I almost didn't get my group pic back when Archies bodyguard tucked in under his elbow. Make sure you sign your NAME on the backside as it can get lost in the exchange as there are so many fans passing things back and forth.

Lstn2Me - August 26, 2008 02:21 AM (GMT)
^^ All good ideas. I never thought of the finale letter. That would have been perfect. Carly did sign my UH cd case, and a picture of the Top 10.

Shelly - August 26, 2008 04:43 AM (GMT)
Very cool, Jay! I have no idea what I'm going to have her sign, if anything at all. Think she'd sign my tattoo? :haha: I don't own UH as I bought it off iTunes. I had thought of buying a program or maybe a picture at the show... I don't know...

Lstn2Me - August 26, 2008 01:23 PM (GMT)
Shelly, I absolutely HAD to have her autograph. The program is a good idea, but you will have to meet her after the concert if you want her to sign it. I printed out a picture of the Top 10, then glued it to some posterboard backing. It had it on a clipboard so it would be easy for them to sign.

I've seen the Idols sign shirts the fans were wearing, tickets, posters. I've read they signed purses, cell phones, bare arms so yes she'd sign your tat if you asked! Carly once jokingly warned a fan to watch her purse because once they are on a role they sign anything... :lmao:
