Thought this topic deserved its own thread separate of other twittering stuff.

Carly currently has 799 twitter followers, but we would like to get more - Carly herself asked in atwitter for help and advice in getting more followers.

So l know a few ideas have been thrown out in the other thread but let's list them here & brainstorm any other ideas you may have - what can we or Carly do to increase her exposure on twitter.

We can also track our progress in this thread.

Some ideas already discussed:
-create twitter banner & post it in myspace (and possibly elsewhere) to advertise Calry on twitter.
-Make sure to include twitter address when doing friends list messages.

What else can we do?

We can also post (and repost) MySpace bulletins every day giving people her Twitter address. Some of us have been doing that already.

There comes a point you can overload a message and when the message gets too long you tend to lose interest.
I honestly feel keeping them on a personal level is the best idea.Adding a link is fine,but I already add videos to show who carly is and the link to her myspace and to angels.I don't mind adding the twitter link too but there comes a point it gets to be too much.When all the links overpower the personal message the message tends to get lost.
And I agree with a comment I read in it's another thread about being a billboard.I prefer to keep mine on a more personal level.This also helps to keep from getting reported for sending automated friend requests.I've been there and had my account blocked on several occasions.So since this is my account I will keep on with the way I'm already sending my messgaes.

when i send out messages on myspace this is usually what i say:

Hey! i saw u were a fan of (insert artist)! If u like her, u may like Carly Smithson! Please Check out her music at

And send her a friend request!!

How about adding the link to your emails.

And maybe someone could come with new flyers to hand out,or have someone add the twitter link to the flyers we already have.

Another idea that I've already seen is on myspace add the link to your mood status updates.

when u send messages and enter a an address, it automatically makes it a link
