Okay I noticed that some of us have interests in the music industry (besides me). So I thought we might discuss it here. Me? Singer/songwriter and instrumental composer.

i am a singer/songwriter. i play the keyboard/piano but not well enough to compose music yet. and most of my songs i write are incomplete :P but yeah singing is pretty much my life!

I've being classicly trained on the violin for ten years and played piano for two, but I'm competent.

Classically-trained violinist for 12 years now, and I also play the piano and sing (I'm a mezzo-soprano)

I'm mostly singer (other than violin) and I have a soprano 1 range and happen to makes sacrifices as an alto. :swat:

i sing soprano 1 and 2, depending on how many parts the song requires. :D

ok, so I am not a singer or anything lol..i was in choir for 3rd through 5th grade though. it was fun lol..but i was younger haha.. but i do play the trumpet in my school band, and my director has said that i am one of his best players. i can also use my trumpet music and play those songs on the piano, kind of..like I can play the melody of I Hate Myself for Loving You.

So i am not like a vocalist, but I play an instrument, although I can't compose music. And I want to learn how to play the guitar SO bad..i want to find someone who can teach me..it should be easier since i already know how to read music.

Yep. I'm very familiar with that. But it was fun with a choir of six people! :P

i wrote part of a song in the shower last night!!!!! except i didnt have my phone with me so i had to memorize it then record it the second i got out lmao. its pretty beastly. that happens to me, i will get like 5 really awesome lines but i can never finish the song! ugh! :wall:

:rolleyes: . Yep, the classic "I'm away from paper but I have a great idea!" I come up with lyrics and a good melody while I'm bored during swim practice! :haha:

lmao! isnt that so frustrating?! and hahah i saved a draft of my song and i keep recording new lines. i'm gonna try really hard to stick with this song lmao

I hate that, it really anoys mwe thats why i take my phone everywhere, or a pen nad paper.

I hate not being able to write my idea down im currently working on editing some songs and making them better, getting the melodies and such

I have been playing around with the music for one of my songs, LOL today i tried to play the piano and it sounded so wrong, not a good idea ill leave it to the people who are good at it LOL

I'm resuming my piano lessons this summer so that I can play the melodies I hear. Isn't it frustrating when you can't play what you hear?

well i am actually better at playing by ear than actually reading the music. i cant just sit there and play but i can usually start plucking out random melodies of songs i know
